Are we all done discussing the payment policies? You haven't been dj for too long if you've haven't encountered an unpaid event. Unfortunately it happens and my advice is not to lose sleep over it. Any decent promoter will do his best to recitify it. Give it some time.

from what i understand rohan showed up, played, and did everything that was expected of him. therefore what he "deserves" is every penny of what you initially promised him, whatever the agreement you guys had. if you're pissed off about him calling you on it online, then feel free to not do business with him in the future and fly some other DJ out from australia as your headliner :)

Hey Form, props for trying to be diplomatic and clear any drama that may be looming on your board :)

...unfortunately, this is not the first time this kid has dicked Rohan around. Plus, it becomes a little bit of an issue with this guy calls my friend and verbally abuses her and leaves insane sounding messages with the word "fuck" in them about 20 or so times on their answering machine. It's really fucking scary, and it's a sad thing for my friend to deal with.


Speaking of the threats, I remember hearing in the message that this guy had talked to "every promoter" and that he would "never ever ever ever be booked again in this city"

So jay auto, has he gotten through to you? :P..haha I doubt it!

yup, it happens, but it shouldn't, and "decent" promoters have the money the night of shows, and the real pros that i've worked for have handed me an envelope before i've even hit the stage.

don't throw a party if you can't make your responsibilities without significant help from the door, you should be able to pay everyone even if, let's say, the party gets shut down right when you open the doors, or there's a power failure and no one comes, or if there's gale force winds, act of god, etc...

i've lost clubnights before and still paid DJs that were supposed to play, and (god forbid) if i ever lost a night where i had a big show going on, i'd still have to pay for everything.

that said, don't discuss business on here until you've exhausted all other options...
