what an insane night. simply awesome! as with every new years i always manage to get myself into some trouble but whatevs. wicked night!

first i went to evolution to play a tag team set with Seth. Had a absolutely awesome time, kinda weird crazy venue but that added to the fun. But MAN was that party louder than anything! i was stone deaf by the end of our set at about 2 oclock or so... wowhaha... thanx for having us play guys!! it was a blast = )

...then... we went to 'PLAY' at about 3 in tha mornin and thats when the night just took off! haha the bc room was pretty wicked i walked in just as czech was finishing off his set.

precise threw down some SICK tracks unfortunate about the sound, no doubt, Cinto, Wicked set bro! (i especially liked that first one ;) haha) Hirshee, Dave armstrong, and Form n Kaos were simply excellent! i Seriously really liked the set up for this party with the 4 rooms! the main room as allways, then the breaks room downstairs, and i liked having the house room like it was. i really enjoy having it a bit lighter in the house room instead of in the dark theatre which i thought was perfectly suited to the big, vast, trippy, sound of the progressive they were playing in there. Nick delgado as allways was absolutely sick, and for the first time i saw tyler johnson spin and he completely blew me away. just nuts! = ) what a great night.

Dabbler's played top 40 jungle everytime ive heard him.
Matty plays for the plaza crowd. He was playing stuff i hadnt heard before at simple. Nobody was into it. Then he started throwing down the biggest anthems. Of course it got the crowd into it.

The plaza breaks/jungle rooms used to be something to really look foward to.

what the fuck man..everyone knows not to go to a plaza party if you wanna hear decent DnB. ive seen dabbler spin some good sets at clubs....i didn't expect much from their sets except for matty whom i missed anyway cuz i was probably flailing to disco...the only decent DnB in this city as at the clubs, cuz the raver kids do too many drugs to know what good music is.

also everyone knows that anyone who calls themselves a junglist but only goes to plaza parties is a fuckin joke.

I never dumb-down my sets......rave or club. Probably the only "anthem" i dropped at Play was "Don't wanna know" by Shy FX & T-Power. I'm a firm believer in, i guess, educating the crowd if they're young and give experienced older crowds something to make them really listen.

even though "don't wanna know" is considered an "anthem" from what i believe it was vancouvers first time hearing that track at a massive....and i missed it. =( the vancouver scene feeds off athems.. crowd goes psycho over athems, but if u play too much it just gets boring and the dj sets start repeating themselves. New and original stuff are always nice. play whatever u wanna play..

and at play. they played it three times.. i can't believe u missed it.. once with dabbler.. the other with dj matty.. and the third with mechwarrior. ..
