It was nice to see the man spin live.

My only complaints was the smell in the "sweat pit of death" dance floor and the excessive treble from the speakers if you are in the line of fire. The tunes sounded much better off to the sides of the stage.

you know what I actually never thought of taking notes! Good idea though!! Although I'm not a die-hard PvD tune spotter and I haven't stayed up-to-date with the latest tracklistings of his sets lately but those are the tunes that I heard him playing throughout this year, the majority of them weren't new at all. It's a great way to kind of get some of the moments back from the nite by hearing those tracks again at least it really works for me I can really recall the crowd's response to some of those tunes which gives me shivers and that's the greatest thing about it!

I agree with your thoughts that there weren't too many new tracks that I heard last night.

I am pretty bad at putting a track title to the actual tune, but I have heard enough of his live sets to pick out a majority of the tracks he spun last night.

And you are right... to see a crowds reaction to a track that you like is pretty cool.

I was curious to see if he would try spinning some breaks as he did in this set:

Paul Van Dyk Global DJ Broadcast 3/22/03

Part 1
01. Paul van Dyk - Nothing But You (Cirrus Mix)
02. Proper Naughty Filthy - To The Beat
03. Infusion - Dead Souls
04. Santos - No Ticket To Run (Krafty Kuts Remix)
05. Arc En Ciel - The Juice
06. Paul Van Dyk - Chupacabras
07. Syntax - Pray (Dave London Remix)
08. U2 - Elevation (Paul Van Dyk Remix)
09. Silencers - Rolling 'N' Controlling
10. End ly - Joyce
11. Armin van Buuren - Sunburn (Jamie Anderson Mix)

PvD always has the same expression on his face, it's like he doesn't even need to think about what he's doing anymore. I thought he put on a good show, too bad I had zero energy to dance. Oh, and the dj who spun before him SUCKED! A monkey with its hands tied behind his back could beat match better than that! (well not really but you get my point :hehe: )

I thought the dj that was on before him was not that bad. I like the style of music ( tech-house? Tribal?I'm not sure exactly )

^Agreed does anyone have a track list ( or at least names of some of the tracks ) from his set?

It was a bit of everything really...the majority of it was progressive house

Some of the tunes I recognized were

Moguai - U know Y
Solar Stone - Solar Coaster (Steve Murano Mix)
Fine Day also the Steve Murano Mix

What an excellent show, I'm not a huge PvD fan in general, as I find a lot of his stuff just a little too slow or downtempo. Nonetheless I've found a lot of DJs who I've felt that way about managed to kick it up a notch live...whether this is a result of their actual performance or just the added energy that comes from being at an actual live show, I'm not certain. But whatever the reason, it was certainly true last night...while tere were some 'slower' moments, overall the music and the night were top-notch, with the only minor complaint being that at times it felt TOO crowded, and I felt like a little too sardine-like dancing (and this was being off to the back and/or sides most of the night...I can only imagine what peeps who were smack dab in the middle felt).

But overall, a great show at a decent price...who can complain?
