call me heartless
Well I guess you can call me cold and heartless..Another blow to the raving community brought on by stupid children whom od..It is because of your own stupidity that you found yourself in this situation..Nobody forced you to take the drugs..It was a choice you made yourself..And now everybody will pay for your stupidity..I saw you outside..hmm let me guess blue skirt (really too short) Hope you learned a lesson..And now we all shall pay for it..Maybe you should grow up and party a little more responsibly..

The cops did not find anyone ODed at Groove at all... so we have no clue where any of that came from, makes absolutely no sense that this is the same person at Groove since Groove was shut down just after 3am, and this person Oded at 7-730am ????

Just great....just freakin' great....I heared that girl that was OD'ing outside while I was leaving in the morning...+ I seen the ambulance that was coming for her heading in venue direction while I was leaving...I knew nothing good could come out of an ambulance heading there...just a lotta heat...downtown New West...obviously shit hit the fan....its just too bad EVERYONE has to pay for the mistake and carelessness of one person....I bet that person doesn't even feel that bad about what this means for everyone else...I mean, I am glad that she's alright...but still...like...know your limit for god's sake...we can't have this happening at our good venues...not at any venue...we just getting bad publicity one after another...on top of that I liked this damn venue...the closest one to me...

Always remember people
Obviously you can have fun without drugs. If you do do them remember there also at any given time be some bad shit out there. DrugDealers aren't the best of people and your E could be mixed with God knows what. It's hard to know exactly what you're taking because what was good last month could be something horrible this month and have the same name/color The Dealer himself may not even know that he's selling bad pills. So my advice is that if you must do drugs, take them in moderation No need to over do it. You not only hurt yourself but also the rave scene in general. No venue owner in his right mind would want to rent out a venue with people overdosing on drugs. And The city working with us and/or tolerating us would be next to impossible |

Josh did have a good point, though. Douglas was free. That's a major boon when you're running parties out-of-pocket and trying to put on a successful party. I've seen some decently big DJ Lineups there too, for raves that cost me a whopping 15-20 bucks. Its not easy to pull something like that off when you've got to pay venue rental.

As for the situation with douggy day care. Yes it was a great venue while it lasted! But people it's not the end of the world. Promoters will find better venues than DOUGGY. Relax people. Honestly this is only a boost to the scene because honestly douggy was starting to get overused. True that it did help people for their first ever party (THANX JOSH!) but hey now we just have to find cheaper venues and better locations. I don't personally think it will affect the scene that greatly, but it will only encourage us promoters to be more creative with everything. Also, it makes me frustrated when I hear people OD. It's not that hard to have a great time when your sober people. Use your heads. Don't be doing an excess amout of drugs when you DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT know your limits or you just want to get more fucked up than you already are. I don't have anything against drugs until you abuse it. Please people party safe and responsibly. As for cinist saying we should raise awareness of the drug Ecstacy. I completely agree we do need to do it with all the new partiers coming into the scene. Shannon if you need help with it I will be willing to help 110% Last edited by -DLO_604-; May 21, 04 at 11:43 PM. |

And whoever suggested to drag the person outside, call an ambulance, and leave them there, think about how you would like a promoter to treat yourself if you had some sort of medical emergency, even if it wasnt ODing: Would you want some sketchy promoter to drag you outside and leave you in the cold when your life was on the line? They may have lost a good venue, but NNP showed that they are responsible and look after their guests. |

we did take her outside and then we called 911 it made no diference the cops said to shut it off. and losing this venue has nothing to do with the promoters. peps should just say no to drugs. |

On a more serious note, I'll agree with others that it's good to see that the promoters did the right thing. |

WTF?
The only people responsible for loosing that venue is the people that do too many pills and act irresponsilbly. Besides, everyone knew that the end was comming soon. And did you forget that raves are illegal, especially in the city of New Westminster. Cops were sick of dealling with that venue and were waiting for something like this to happen, as soon as it did they pulled the plug. The promoters did everything they could, we can't control other peoples actions. |
