hey, that sounds decent.
I'll definantly have to hit up VIVA soon. Thrillseekers VS Pulser VS lange vs GTR? ooohhh. Smooth. I really enjoyed Spooky8, fucking AWSOME headliners. If you can get them all back for another Massive that would be too good. |

I think we need to take a step back and really appreciate these DJ's/Producers and in this case, world music icons for what they have done for our scene then and now. Read through Oakenfold's write-up as it is truly is amazing what the man has done in his career. Having said that, anyone into that type of music now really should try and check him out as he was a lot of the reason why most of the DJ's/producers you listen to or love are what they are today. Just a thought... |

Everyone can it about Oakie already. Kraig is right.........telling Oakie not to play CD's or what to play for that matter is like walking up to the Queen and asking her to have starbucks instead of high tea...... alot of you kids only know who Oakie is because of essential mixes etc...(there is more to life than tranceport). I would be surprised if you are aware that he began his career remixing Salt'n'Pepa's "Push it" and has done thousands of projects both electronically and non-electronically based. His GU 002 was and still is my fave CD because he plays everything from atmospheric d&b to trance ....It's called artistic diversification, hence the band thing he tried with the Bunkka tour.........okay not his brightest moment, but creatively speaking it was monumental. Oakenfold is a true ARTIST. Not just someone content to make tons of money spinning other people's tracks. He also helped launch Max Graham's career into hyperspace as well as D:Fuse, Hernan Catteneo and many others. He has 15 production alias' and has wokred on many movie scores....... (can ya tell I love the man) I have met him and he is amazing and incredibly genuine and gracious unlike a certain German Trance DJ who's name rhymes with the third reich... The freestylers again..............WOW. I am slowly educating myself re:breaks/d&b and I can vouch for their sickness.... :D:D:D:D:D It is amazing to see the response from people especially the young kids who have no concept of how much planning, funds etc it takes to even attempt a show of this magnitude. Good grief, give these guys a break and SHOW UP. You won't regret it..... (I will be there in full effect :D:D:D) P.S. Kraig............Thank Azim for Oakie..... I seriously hope you are joking (about not figuring out my little vandit beef) The CD thing has it's pros and cons.......If Oakie plays a CD it's probably his own stuff, was GIVEN to him by someone who has yet to have the track pressed or something of that nature. My issue with CDs has been argued for ever it seems.....I hate seeing young kids playing crap mp3's of tracks they have no right to be playing because they ripped them off from Kazaa or something of the sort. Not only does it disrespect the artist, but it sounds horrible.....You know me I am addicted to the black crack like the rest of us (why do ya think Soma calls me the vinyl pimp?!?!?! but sometimes you have no choice but to play a CD....I agree though much more entertaining seeing hand on vinyl vs pressing "cue" on a cdj) :D Okay I have annoyed enough people for one day........... |

Ooooohhh, 3 sylables, now I understand...and to some degree I am offended. Well, not really. I'll say this for the man, he's had some solid production over the years, although he may have become a titchy bitch of late. But yes, I have to agree with you that burning tracks for the purpose of cd-djing (that are otherwise widely availbale) is wrong and yes, they sound like sheer crap most of the time. I started spinning on cd decks a few years ago and while technically a lot of fun to play with, they managed to take a large part of the human element out of spinning and cd decks just don't provide the same amount of entertainment value. I really despise Eric Morillo for switching over to cds. :(
Oh yeah, thanks for setting aside those copies of "Cold/Kalt" for Sean and I, you truly are a vinyl pimp, just stay outta my record box, dey iz mah bitches :p |
