OK here's my two cents as always. It kinda bothers me when people bring up the topic of CD's being spun by Major Dj's. Take it from me a Dj that has done touring and travelled globally carting around a huge selection of music to cater to every different city and country you are going to travel to is by no means a fun experience especially if the airlines lose your cases. I have had this happen to me on a tour I did in Portugal and lost everything. The airline reembursed me a bunch of cash but that didn't replace the many non-replacable records I owned at that point in time and didn't help me out for a show I spun the next night. So to curb this I used to travel with one record box and carried on the plane two CD binders holding about 600 discs total. Please do your best to put yourself in the shoes of these guys as they aren't throwing their records in their car and driving down to the local club for the night. These guys are flying into one town and one crowd and then off to another town with a different crowd. CD's have become a must. For me I would never do a tour ever again on vinyl. It's just too much to lose and you can never carry the variety in vinyl you know you'll need. So before making crap comments about this try and understand the position the travelling Dj is in they are just trying to give you the best variety without taking the chance of losing non replaceable records.

P.S. I'm looking forward to Phynn as much if not more than Oakie. This is going to be a sick party primarily due to some sick talent.
G and lastly beyond popular belief CD player technology is getting so close to vinyl now do not be surprised if Vinyl is on the shelf in the next 4 - 5 years. All the major players in the Cd market are comming out with some amazing pieces of equipment in the near future that will shut up even the most critical vinyl lover. Most Dj's spin vinyl because it looks cool and no other reason. I can do on Denon S5000's anything any other Dj can do on a turntable and more and this includes complex scratching and beat juggling. Doode I see what you're saying but im sure Paul doesnt carry around his records if he doesnt want to. I think carrying records around while travelling is nothing to most of those guys. You on the other hand arent a "superstar" so finding a hoe to carry those HTF records may be harder.
I could care less if a dj plays a full set of cds, mp3s, records, or cassette tapes if he plays well and it sounds good then who gives a fuck? I rather hear 2 hours of unreleased tunes on cd then 2 hours of what everyone else is playing. |

DJ's spin CD due to the fact it would contain tracks that are not available on vinyl or it is their own creation at that point in time.
I'm been trying to locate the original BT - Force of Gravity (Ferry Corsten Remix) but it doesn't exist yet as it is only on CDR. PvD has gone as far as only using AIFF rips with Final Scratch. Just because they are using a CD unit doesn't mean they aren't spinning... unless they are DJ X at 7 Alexander last year. |

Thank you all for the briefing on vinyl vs. CD's. :-p
Now back to the party at hand... Flights are booked for all the DJ's! I just spoke with the Rave God (Azim) himself who was dropping off tickets at Boomtown, Bassix and a few others. Tickets are also available via ticketmaster.ca RIGHT NOW. -- You can find them by searching for "CRAVE" or for "OAKENFOLD." Cheers. |

I thought I did mention it... But yeah, what Winston said! -- Tickets are available via Ticketmaster by searching for either "CRAVE" or "OAKENFOLD" on that site.
Also - tickets should already be in most stores in the Lower Mainland by now... I would suggest giving the store closest to you a call before you head down though. Peace. |

Wow... tickets are moving from stores, our ticket sellers and via the Ticketmaster website!!! -- Thanks to all those who are buying early.
Just a note that the party is at the Agrodome and as a result, we will have a more limited capacity so get your tickets early! Cheers. |
