matéo is a jewel in the roughmatéo is a jewel in the roughmatéo is a jewel in the roughmatéo is a jewel in the rough
Zero7 review.

This is a bit of a late review but its worth one. Zero7 owned the commodore on monday. I arrived right when the band was getting on stage so I rushed to the front to get a good look and ingested a tab of Ecstacy. I didnt know what really to expect since I had only heard snippets from their new album but boy was I impressed as were the people who I was with. The ambient atmosphere they created surprised me most I was expecting people to be grooven and dancing but it was like everyone was in a coma. Mozez rocked the night and as if his vocals werent enough he danced like a madman. When he announced his last song people were visibly dissapointed and some yelled. Tina, the new vocalist was greeted w/ open arms from the audience but I wasnt impressed with her as much as I was with SIa and Sophie. They were fucking amazing. Sia is so incredibly hot and when her mouth opens I find myself not only wanting to hear her voice in my head forever but I picture myself kissing her deeply on top of a mountain. Sophie definately has the most amazing voice I have ever heard. She was a crowd fav too w/ her crazy on stage antics. The band played a flawless set from what my semi trained ears heard. At one point in the night sophie told the crowd that the week was full of decent gigs but this one in vancouver was incredible. I think she was sincere too, the crowd was stomping their feet everytime the band had a break. all in all I was totally impressed with the bands performance my only gripe would be the weakness of the sound level. Thnx for the company Ms Chan, and Eman I wish I knew you went before!!!!!!

Good to hear. These guys are totally awesome, and incredibly underrated. I hope they come back in a year or two so I can actually catch them this time.

Oh, and Matéo, their new album is -- for the most part -- kind of forgettable song by song, but the 2 tracks you want to search out are called "Home" and "Somersault"

They're probably the best 2 tracks the band has ever done... although sorely lacking in Mozez's vocal awesomeness.

lithe is on a distinguished road
give the new album a few more listens.. it grows on you. it's not as immediately impressive as simple things, but it's just as good.

i had an amazing time. i was with great friends, and a great girl <3, and we just danced all night, right up at front. hung around after and met the band, which was super. such a fun night. my legs still hurt.

Yeah, I'm down that I couldn't afford it. Ah, well. There's always next time.
