Yeah it was pretty gay how it got busted...Only 2nd party that I've ever gone to that's been busted. I was only there for an hr or so too...Didn't show up till 12.

I feel so bad for the girl friends that had to pay...$35 for a ticket...:(

fun while it lasted.... ah well i was on my way out the door when the bust came down. too bad though as Fresh seemed to be ready to lay down a bangin set.

btw... i want to send a massive FUCK YOU out to whoever the chump was who flipped out on my girl, who was talking on the phone before the party started.... maybe if you guys had made a point of informing your DJs as to the whereabouts of the event, we wouldn't have to do your job for you. Props to Steve & everyone else involved for all the hard work... except for that dude, who can eat a big bag of dicks.

Ok, I'd like to hear it right from the promoter this time... my question is: Why should I continue to pay ~30 bucks for tickets to parties that consistantly get shut down? What measures are you people going to take to prevent this in the future? I'm feeling a bit jaded at the moment, considering that you guys get your money up front, but I don't get my full money's worth... over and over again. I love these parties and this scene, but I don't have a bottomless wallet, and I don't have a bottomless resevoir of patience either. The cops said there was a problem with the permit... does anyone have exact information about this, like how many the permit was for, and how much it costs for permit upgrades, etc? Are promoters scrimping on permits for extra profits, or are they having trouble breaking even?

Anyway, on a lighter note, the party was awesome while it lasted. I am pissed about the lack of the third stage though. False advertising wut? No coat check, so I had to dance near my coat all the time, but no biggie. I'm trying to stay positive here. The drum&bass room was awesome, but too hot and packed by like 12:30....

I met some sick dancers last night... I can't remember your names, but I was the white guy in the urban camo t-shirt waving and liquiding all night... shoot me a PM and we can exchange tips and moves and stuff...

Kind of a funny story... I feel retarded about this afterwards but anyway... I hid a joint in my peanut butter and jam sandwhich for a car ride with my mom, because she is super paranoid about that kind of thing. So I only put pb&j on ONE HALF of the sandwich, and put the J on the other half... makes sense right? Well wrong, I got peanut butter on the j... but when I brushed it off and we blazed it, it tasted like peanut butter and it was fucking good! We got fucked! PB&J J'S FOREVER!!!

Shoutouts:
Nato (Custard): Huge props for driving me home... good times, see you next weekend at the Groove 2!
Jay: Always good to hang out with you, PB&J joint! We got ripped!!
Nato & J's friend.. the blond guy: sorry I can't remember your name, but good hanging out with you! Send Nato your contact info!
Fantasia: Hanging out in the woods baked!
Mateo: FUCK YEA!!! :) Good to meet you!

Heh, that's kind of a short shoutout list, but I was busy dancing all night :)

Drove to the checkpoint, Templeton Secondary School.. Guy there told us to park our car and take the shuttle bus, fuck that, we sped off and followed the shuttle bus there :p

sat in the car for 20 min drinking and came inside.. Wow, what is that building, i drive by it every few weeks and i still dont know what it is... Very interesting layout/setup... Props to Kelo/DA.. Loved the way you guys set it up in there.

Twas a great party while it lasted... DetN8R and I made a bet it wouldnt last past 1:30, and we were both correct.. haha... Drove over and checked out the "To The Moon" party, but we werent really up for paying again so we went home

Well, i'm still partly drunk, so enough of my rant for tonite

I have to agree with goddessa here. Not listening to what the party people, and shuttle people are telling you is just plain stupid.

It may not be the sole reason the party got shutdown, but i am sure its one of the reasons.

NOT COOL!!

Actually, although people should listen to the infoline and take the shuttle, etc, that wasn't one of the reasons it got shut down. The loud bass heard all around outside the venue (which was surrounded by houses), and the lights flashing through the windows was enough heat to attract the cops. (one of the cops told me a bunch of people complained). Anyway, a good effort to resurrect a realy cool old school venue by Kelo, not to mention it was done last minute.

The gear wasn't up and running until around 12ish so Azim, Tazix, Jimmy, and I ended up doing a 4x2 for the first hour before Jon Bishop came on. Needless to say, it was a super concentrated orgy of trance. Good times.

not to h8 on anyone, but any party that have a "info line" the day of, well that sounds like it isn't a legal rave and doesn't have a permit to hold a party. I didn't go to this party for that reason and it looks like i saved myself a night of running around. Sorry to hear that it was shut down though, azim and tazix would have been fun for sure. Going to give karma to the most people i can for it! =)

Yes, hmmm obviously the fact that he DROVE to the party behind a shuttle bus ended up heating out the party, what w/ the po driving right behind us. You think we're stupid? We passed the venue and parked four blocks away, then made our way there on foot. We did not loiter outside the venue or yell in a loud or obnoxious fashion that there was a rave, okay? We just didn't feel like relying on a freakin shuttle bus to deliver us back to our car in the morning, plus we were only staying til 4 at the latest. And just to clarify, I'm the asshole not dsl and what award am I getting again?

In short, a great party while it lasted, props to Kelo/Steve. Very enterprising idea, just wish someone had dropped a soundcurtain over those windows to eliminate outside noise and the flashing lasers. Otherwise a very solid party. Jon Bishop was playing some good tunes while it lasted but I have to say that the standout was the trance orgy goin on before his set w/ Richard, Jimmy, Dennis, and Azim. Good tunes were played guys, I enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Neoh, Peter, Matt, Crazy Jay, Myles, Tina, etc, etc good seeing you all too.
Thanks for signing my record, Jon, wicked 1/4 set!

To comment on this situation with the whole permit issue. NOT all venues are able to get a permit for. This being said that venue being one of them. As of right now there are 4 places that you can get a permit and all four venues are quite costly and are being used by bigger production companies such as Solid, Twisted, Unconscious Brothers and a few more in the future. =)

What I felt was uncalled for was to see cops whip out patons like their was a riot or something and they were ready to take my head off. I got threatened by one of the cops and found HIGHLY unnecessary to do so just because of a rave. Geez fuck you cops.

Weak Sauce

My condolences to Kelo and DA on the shut down. That fucking sucked man! I just arrived at the venue around 1:30, and there were hella cops. I was totally stoked to drop some tracks for you guys, but I was scheduled to go on after Bishop, and he only got to play three records. Damn, three hour drive for this shit?!?! I'm sure the party was totally sick, as Kelo and DA know how to throw a great party. The venue did look sweet, too bad I didn't get to check it all out. Canadian cops were pretty chill I think. They let me in to talk to certain peoples, even though at first they told me no hella times.

It sucks when you're in a foreign city and the party gets shut down, cause you don't even know where else to go! I tried to find a cool afterparty, but no luck on that one. Big thanks to Gabe and Ali for rolling out there with me, too bad the night was so anticlimactic. Quote of the night was from Gabe: "Did you really expect to find a dope afterparty in a 7-11 parking lot?" Should have stayed in Seattle and partied with the homies, happy birthday Phil!! You gotta love Vancouver though, it usually is a great place to party. =P

Nice to see the Kelo Fam, Mikee, Hirshee, Miles, those other people that I met that told me about the other party. Nice to meet ya Mr. Bishop. Sucks I didn't get to meet any canadian ladies. :(

'Til next time.

SC
