Actual Review

Just got back. What a party. The party was so good I wanted to stay afterwards partly to meet the production crew and partly to reward them for throwing such an exceptional event. I'm happy I didn't go to Doom's Night; there will always be massives. But this little party called Skullfuck (which turned me off originally) impressed me more than any other rave I've ever been to.

There was vibe up the tailpipe. All sorts of characters were present, and the variety of costumes (of which I didn't participate, to my regret), and the music was extraordinary. Some of it got a little too hard for me (the Psytekk I think wasn't quite what I was looking for, for the most part). As a result, I flailed all night. To anyone who was sketched out by the flailing raver with the beige shirt, jeans, and red-beige plaid-ish overshirt, I apologize. Such was not my intent. I just came out to have a great time and did that.

Random Personal History

The plans were to go to Doom's Night. We were there at around 7, preparing to wait in line for my friend's ticket (he wasn't able to snatch up a ticket in the day's timeframe between spooky's cancellation and the dooms sell-out) until we got it. We waited until around 9:30. By this time I was quite annoyed. It was going to be another 2 hours until he got in, and the door prices were rumoured to be $130-200.

My friend had commented earlier that a friend of his, Kischelle, had connections at Skullfuck and she had told him that if he wanted to cancel out on Dooms to talk to her and she'd get him in. Well, we took that offer at around 9:30.

I sold my ticket to the first person I met looking to buy a single ticket. Most everyone else had several to buy. Her name was Courtney, a short, cute girl with black hair. I sold it to her, in the end, for $115. She got a deal, I got a deal. That I hadn't sold it for cost bothered me later.

A short amount of organization and travel details later, I was there. I had difficulty dancing to the "Ear Bleedcore", but I tried occasionally. Danced to most everything else. Smoked way too many Captain Blacks.

So, to all the people I met there (and I'm not going to rack my poor tired brain with remembering all of them right now), Hi! Finally, my fnk alias and my real person have started to converge again.

That party was awesome. Rock on Monkey, Rob, Jimini Cricket, E-Man, Dan, Doom, Tristan, Crazy Dave, Thorn!!!!, Derek, Lisa, Nelson, Jeff, Jay, Gus, Tyler, etc etc etc etc etc. Twas a total and unconditional blast.

Hardcore rules, go hardcore parties.... we had over 100 people there.... wow.

I'm not usually up that late... actually I'm usually up around the time i was going to bed... but yeh. GOOD times ;) props to Jeff and Amber for yet another kickass show and I hope for many more to come.

It was a shame to have missed Annikas (jimini cricket) as i was planning on going but i had to nap before coming out and i live all the way out in tsawwassen. Anyways... finnally got to see Robb P. play his buttrock. and the guitar was king SHIT! props to you for that and you really should jam that shit to hardcore...

Crazy dave... yes.. its halloween..but holy cow those visuals were fucked up...

all in all a good night. I hope i didn't kill everybody with the hardcore... It was pretty heavy at times... and we didn't even break 220!

Good times.

Saw people I haven't seen in years. Possibly because it was the first rave I have been to in years.

Music was a lot of fun. Everything from cheeeeeze to brain penetration. Robb's buttrock rocked it hard and the guitar polished it off. Steve's hard hard beats with some breakbeats thrown in (or at least that's how I remember it) got people up even that early in the morning. I was too tired to dance by that time but I did some wicked head bobbing.

Some of the costumes were hiiiilarious.

Thanks to everyone involved in putting this show on. Much appreciated.

I had a blast!

The party ran smoothly. No one gave us any problems at all. The cops and fire department looked around and were only checking to make sure we wern't breaking any saftey codes.

My set was fucking fun. I can't believe I actualy pulled that off. Even after panicing through my second last track to try and find a patch cable.

I didn't really pay attention to most of the sets. But I didn't hear anyone fuck up. And I heard alot of cool shit.

Yaw...definitely good times last night. Shouts to the 6am electro breakbeat massif. You guys were the hardest of the hardcore.

All the cool peeps I met last night. Can't remember all your names but off the top of my head: Dan from the Yukon (lol), Rainbow (aka Sketchy) Chris, that guy with the Pom Pom t-shirt (Homestarrunner dot com is tha dopeness ;) )...anyone else whose names escape me at the mo'.

Overall a top notch night. Thanks all. Am about to injest nutrients in the form of spaghetti and home made tomato sauce (mmm) and embark on the long arduous road to recovery.

That's cuz it was... the door was having enough traffic with people just showing up with like 2-5 extra people who weren't on the list. As it was, the party hit capacity by like 1:30. And by 2:30 when the police and fire dept showed up to check it out, no one was being let in.

Remember, when they say no door sales, they usually mean it.

I'm horrible with names and I can't remember anyone's *I apologise* except Chris, Fox, amber, doom *yea.. thats his real name.. shifty eyes* umm umm....Chris's sister in the red with the blonde hair... who's name also escapes me.. the other dude from Tsawwassen............(I've seen you around before but yea....... the name thing, really bad at it, haha I was introducing a few friends of mine who came, but it took me a few minutes to remember their names.) ummm umm umm......... I'll leave it there because I won't remember anyone elses names for now.

Anyway, I was the flailer in Black phat pants with the reflective down the outside seam, the blue ten dollar thompson t-shirt, black fishnets on the arms, the spikies on the wrists, and my super ultimate wheel shoes.

when I was crashing around 4am I kept biteing my tongue for some reason....it hurts now... I'm a retard...
SOOOOOOOOOOO TOTALY ULTIMATE!!! ( I swear I can still feel the caffine pills buzzing in me...and its like 9pm!)

P.S. Those visuals were .....unique. I'm glad I didn't really pay any attention to them except for the projected aray of light it presented washing atop the fun crazy crowd of awesome possums.... Im such a dork. haha

Great turn out, plenty of dancing, socializing with old friends and I got to beat Marty.

I was only there for a few hours due to work, but I was really glad I went. NinjaBoy's set rocked my world! Doomy Jeff, you have improved a lot since I last saw you - mad props. Overall, this was one of the better parties I've been to in my time.
