I think the volume was too high. I don't usually complain but I was slightly irritated. I saw maybe a half dozen people walking off the dance floor with their hands over their ears over the course of the night.
Adam F definitely played a sweet set. |

if the music is too loud, you are too old.... ... get younger again! its more fun anyway :P |

And yes, it was EXTREMELY loud, which usually isnt a bad thing whatsoever, but loud to the point of the tunes sounding like shit, not a good thing. Very good set, excellent track selecting, but I didnt think his mixing was as good as his track selection. |

so trippy...
But the weirdest thing of the night...I was spinning at home 3 days ago....I was playing "X Ray", and I thought how good "The Nine" would sound double dropped with it..so I did it, anyways...Adam F did the same cut!! even cued up at the same point! I was like "WTF?!" during that mix I felt so confused if that was cool or not...I was actually dissapointed at first...but then Krusha re-assured me that its not actually that bad of a thing that Adam F and I had the same thought in mind....it was so weird.
Meeting him and getting his autograph on my copy of " When the Sun Goes Down " was totally cool too...Another night to remember for sure...booyah. Last edited by Toxxin Ephekt; Apr 03, 05 at 02:24 AM. |

Well i guess its the metal head showing through, but loud is good. distortion i can handle from time to time cause deciples are a drug at times. though to truly apprecate the peice a happy medium is better. i love danceing infront of speakers, theres so much audio sensation, you are moved by the music, all you have to do is go with it! |

Okay, here's my review..
Track selection was dope, but I agree with everyone else, it was way too loud. The highs were too much. You couldn't really hear the mids at all, which in most d&b tracks is the heart of the song. A couple of those ragga tracks he played knocked me on my ass. I was also wanting just 2 or three hiphop tracks, and it gets a bit blurry, but I don't think he played any. I'm sure a lot of people saw me, I was in the red 'junglist movement' shirt. I was expecting it to be a bit more packed, but the amount of people was just right. Sonar was the right venue for this show forsure. That MC was horrible. I think I heard 'holy shit' after every buld up, and I know it's adam f, you really don't have to tell me 57 times in a period of 2 hours. I was really REALLY hoping there wouldn't be an MC there and I was dissapointed. Worth my $17 bucks? (Plus $60 in drinks) Yeah. Could it have been better? Yeah probably. |

Great set layed down by Adam. We had some sound issues from the start when Pacific and Auto were taggin'.... got it sorted by the time Mat The Alien got on... who killed it by the way!! Come on people... get to the club earlier, 3 of the best local DnB DJs played before Adam, and it was a ghost town till maybe half way through The Alien's set.
Adam came with the pressure. Loads of Breakbeat Kaos.... a dope intro with Redman (though yes way to loud!).... one problem with Adam's set was that he wanted to push the system which is never a good thing. We had it sounding nice by the time he got on.... but he rammed up the levels. Oh well.... we all have done it before. As for the MC comments... well everyone that is hating can shut it. For real. Myster E MC is without a doubt one of the more talented DnB MCs to ever grace this city. He has the lyrical skills to back it up. Instead of complaining about how times he said "Sonar Crew".... or gave praise to Adam F... how about commenting on some of th rhymes he was throwing down. Straight ill shit. Stop hating.... and find the positive. Elan (Myster E) is a dedicated junglist and IMO on the top DnB MCs in Canada. respect -s |

I came, I saw, I drank too much, and I went to get something to eat.
Thank you to Mat the Alien for some great boogie-worthy tracks (too bad I was too drunk), Kam for driving down there, all my boys (Matt, Haydn & Kam) for putting up with me, Adam F for laying down some fab tracks I managed to hear before I left, Matt for taking me to get some food, and dv8 for being open late! Sorry I didn't see hardly anyone, I was outta there just after 130? (I think, haha). It was still a damn good night! :y: Ah, but I remember why I don't drink now... |
