I've been spinning since 2001 and making electronic beats since 2000. What originally hooked you into the DJing scene? The absolutely wild and fresh music and sounds that I was hearing coming from the speakers of a party! I've been a musician all my life playing various instruments and I just naturally wanted to understand how mixing worked...it looked like hella fun! Style of Music? It depends what im playing for. My time as a resident dj allowed me to experiment with all styles, whatever was going to keep the crowd happy and dancing! When im playing one-off gigs where the focus is more on what each individual style a dj can bring to the show, Im all about the synthy Electro-House! Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - Probably over 80$ for some ridiculous speed garage record that I never even look at anymore ;) What is your most treasured record and why? Its a white label Laidback Luke remix, just unreal filthy, synthy, melodic, SIZZLING electric funk!! Im not sure if its all that rare, but i would never want to be without it! :D What events have you played at? Too many to mention, but my most memorable have been New Years 2004 at Club Cinderella in China, and headlining a club in Zhengzhou, China for 2 nights, both in front of 2000+ !! A sea of chinese people, all going off to electro. Love it. What National / International clubnights have you played or held residencies at? Rotational resident at Tokyo Lounge in Vancouver (Sat nights), 6-nights a week resident at Club Cinderella in Jinan, China (Jan 04-Mar 04), Weekly resident at Kai Club and Vick's Nightclub in Beijing (Mar 2004-July 2004). Have you got any DJing horror stories? Nothing too terrible, power outages during great sets really muck up the flow though! ;) Any other information? I am starting to get my original tracks released and I usually play alot of my own tunes out during my sets, the best feeling for me now is getting to play my own stuff on a beautiful sound system and having people react to it! :D Last edited by oliver; Sep 01, 06 at 03:28 PM. |
