actually my bad. on my post i should have said that both companies have been working for months on their shows. but seeing as this is THEIR thread why bring up the other party's name. yes both have been working at it for months but once the deposits are all sent away for the dj's and venue u cant get it back. So why should these guys move their date when all the stuff has been taken care of. And just to let everyone know that not everyone likes outdoor shows. I wish these guys the best of luck so i'd advise EVERYONE to show some respect and leave keep this thread what it is made for Lost City NOT Summerbreaks

that's so funny, people bitch in this city that there's not enough parties or variety, and when two happen to be on the same night, people still bitch. it wasn't so long ago that there was more than two parties on a given weekend, all catering to similar crowds that did okay, so shut it.

Secondly, do you wonder if mountain equipment co op was pissed when other sports shops started to open up around them? are they going broke? no. It actually makes good business sense to have all those stores offering similar products in the same area, because if someone doesn't find what they're looking for, there's enough stores nearby where they can likely find it. Summer is a time when everyone wants to party, so I think the more the merrier. A lot of small parties have seen HUGE success when thrown on the same night as massives.

And do I really have to point out the fact that you're getting something TOTALLY different when you go to popkum VS riverside? It's practically being sold to two different crowds here.

i totally agree with you that this thread is for supporting 'lost city' and not to bash against it because of summer breaks. i was simply stating that summer breaks as well has been working hard for months to bring their show. remember you made that comment first. i understand the deposits thing and no i don't think the date should be changed. i fully agree with myra, i think both shows are being sold to different crowds. best of luck to all yall!

For the amount of Ticket sales you get out of Riverside I have to give the promoters of this party credit, very impressive lineup. Trust me with the price of Riverside and the quality of dj's spinning I don't think the promoters are throwing this party to get rich.

props to promoters on booking nice talent and for keeping ticket prices fairly low, so far anyways heh

couple things tho, there are people out there who would attend the shows, not because of the type of 'crowd' they hang out or party with, but because of the music. i know a lot of people who would have a hard time picking which party to go to. in the last 3 pages, i think i only saw 3-4 posts that mentioned music, the rest were all just about partying and i was getting an impression that music isnt important anymore.

another thing... i'm not a very active member on fnk, i am however, very active on tranceaddict.com. this party, having two highly influential trance headliners had zero promotion on TA. i didnt know this was happening until a week ago. im sure this was not done intentionally but knowing the size and importance of TA for the trance scene globally, i think next time, you guys should maybe send out a word down our way too ;)

Power to TA. this is where a lot of peps look for events and anything to do with trance plus its usually one of the first places people look into with edm music.
