i kinda answered in a previous post:

oct 7th is a charity event that mr. relm is not getting paid anything for - he even cancelled a spokane gig to help us out as a favour

he can play for as long or as short as he feels and i'd be grateful either way, as would those affected by hurricane katrina i would imagine.

this event is designed to help get those people who would not otherwise donate money to the cause, off their asses to donate by way of buying a ticket.

i would hate to have relm's set length disappoint anyone and have people complain that they didn't get their money's worth at a charity event

i'm not at all interested in having that shit overshadow what this event is about
(it seems to have already overshadowed what the event is about as no one has mentioned anything about the the fact that this is a charity event - in this thread anyway - most people are more concerned with what THEY get out of all this)

that said,

if you're there specifically to see a long-ass relm show, rather than to help those in need, you might perhaps want to save your $12 and wait for a proper mike relm headline show in the future...one that is centred all on him...one that is not a charity event, one that is not a multi-artist event

if you would like to take the chance on his set length by donating $12 to charity, and in return get a full night of entertainment, we welcome you with open arms

lifesavas have murdered the commodore twice (once opening for kweli, once as part of the quannum tour with dj shadow, blackalicious, etc)

the coup has one of THE best shows i've ever seen - i can honestly say that having seen everyone from the roots, to stevie wonder (incdentally once at the lousiana superdome), to lauryn hill, to krs-one, to slick rick & doug e fresh to ozomatli live in concert

this event is worth much more than the $12 donation, and your money goes to a good cause via:
