Donald Glaude at Tokyo Lounge
WOW!
Saw a lot of familiar faces, and a LOT of new ones. Donald tore it up, very energetic, good track selection. Tokyo lounge was packed and the ladies... mmmm ;) Very good night indeed. Last edited by FeelGood; Nov 11, 05 at 02:30 PM. |

no way the record skipped. i was right there two of three, and he thought it was beatmatched properly. then everyone who knew anything was like "oooooooo shiitt" and then he dropped the other one out to try and save. bullcrap. plus he wasnt just using the fader to yell stuff, he kept wiggling around like a fuckin high school dance dj for chrissakes! i agree, the place went off, but i find that in this case, it had very little to do with the skill of the dj. if hes playing big tunes, (which he was) people who dont know anything about djing co crazy! ill even admit i enjoyed a whole lot of his tracks. but i go crazy when i see somebody who can do a whole lot of things i cant do. i feel the same way about him as i do about lorin. he rocks a crowd well, but his actual djing skill is minimal. __________________ |

It's so easy to hate but i think its important for a DJ to be crowd pleaser like DG...people want to have fun, dance and make the night a good time..when a DJ motivates you to do that with his stage pressence there is nothing better. It reinforces the set as a spectacle...and an artfrom to be appreciated that is more than just sound..but also FEELING. I think, for the most part he had solid track selection..i did hear a wreck...but im not DJ turntable mastah either so i dont feel in any position to commment in regards to that. Shit happends. People seemd like they were having a really good fucking time, including DG...and i liked that aspect. Even if, my desire style in music is a little more funky ...and fresh then what i was hearing. Normally, i dance a lot more...maybe the floor was too crowed.
Goooooodie night though! :) "THIS IS MY HOUSE." |
