As a veteran DJ act, Mathematics is known for creating a unique vibe; blending soulfulness with dancefloor beats, making a wicked deep party atmosphere.

Formed in part due to a reaction to the "Bang-it-out-as-hard-as-you-can!" vibe pervasive in most stateside drum and bass, Mathematics definitely bring the soul to the dancefloor. Longtime New York favourites, they're known for bringing a broad spectrum of fans to their shows, and their sounds seem to go especially well with the ladies.

While drum 'n' bass made in America has long been ignored by the largely UK-dominated scene, this talented duo has been heartily welcomed by the DJ fraternity in England, having had their music released on high profile labels such as Hospital, CIA, Defunked, Frontline, Renegade Rec. among others and played by the likes of LTJ Bukem, Bryan Gee, DJ Hype, Marcus Intalex, Total Science, High Contrast, DJ Lee, Nookie, London Elektricity, Blame, Calibre, L Double and Bailey, amongst others.

Just like that cat a few years ago that toured as Alex Patterson of The Orb. He played Toronto and even signed the wall at Eastern Block, came here to play for Grooverobber with some random groupie bird. Groovy got a fax saying the guy was an imposter and that the REAL Alex Patterson was in the UK. They confronted the guy in the hotel.... he bounced and left the poor groupie girl all alone 3500km from home. Too funny.
