I still cant get over that. On our way out I saw supper star Tracy, but no biach or else I would made a very embaracing scene.
But you know what really bothers me is on my way back they had this guy from Delta just wander around helping ppl and showing htem how to do it electronicly. Dam it was so easy... we could of just swiped our credit cards in the computer for our boarding pass and proven that biach wrong! |

KILLA KELA's Maimi Blog + pix:
I'm back from 5 days at M3 in Miami. In short, It was 5 days of non-stop studio and stage ambushing from the moment I got off the plane! ...hence; no sun tan. BUT! I got photo's and Diary logs of all the events to go up on the Kelazine, so keep your eyes on the prize! Its worth a look, even if its to have a laugh at my sun burn! :) Wednesday My day of jetlag. Hedge backwords were the words spinning in my head :) Popped into the Remix Hotel for our first launch party with DJ Krush, but ended up hanging in the Microsoft Suite with our peoples Arif and Dave Ghetto (check him out at www.daveghetto.com - new album features Cee Lo, 9th Wonder, Phonte). Thursday It was Studio time with Mayday, an up and coming hiphop duo (www.southbeat.com/bio_mayday.htm - new album features Cee Lo, Devin The Dude and more). MTV Battle Champ Wreckognize was also in the house. Later in the evening was night one of M3 Sunset Sessions presented by Giant Step where we hung out with UK legend Gilles Peterson, Bugz in The Attic, Mark De Clive Lowe and more. For those of you that passed thru M3 last year You may remember my collaboration with a guy called Chi Turner (check track #1 on the Sunset Sessions CD last year. Chi also collaborated with both Bugz and Mark - Small world!) Chi's on a hiatus from the music business, hopefully he'll be in Maimi with us next year. He's a good boy. But UK was definatly in the house! Big shout to all area crew! We got to check out Bugz debut live set featuring Daz-I-Kue with Bembe Segue, Mpho Skeef and an M.C - plus! got to see Daz do the running man in a tennis outfit. Ha! From there we jumped to some downtown warehouse to support Mayday. Also in the house was Rhettmattic (Beat Junkies) who was performing with MED and Wildchild (Stones Throw) Mayday gave me 5 minutes to jump up, so I took them up on the offer.. smashed it. Friday Day two of Sunset Sessions, jetlag in the house! very tired, but I'm a survivor kids! :) this time I hosted and did short sets between each act throughout the day. Heavy! I got to introduce She Wants Revenge, Hot Chip, The Juan Maclean, Kudu, Jazzanova, DJ Marlboro, James F!@#$%^ Friedman, and the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. After my work was done, we bounced over to the Astor for the Stones Throw party and vibed with Madlib, Peanut Butter Wolf and J-Rocc (Beat Junkies) From there, we bounced over to The Shore hotel where Jazzy Jeff and his crew greeted us and invited me to spit between Jeff and Bobbito's dj sets. We linked with Darnell, Skillz, Kenny Dope, Spinna, Terry Hunter, Tony Humphries, Rich Medina, 3D, and a whole lot more. Let the good times roll! Saturday Popped by the Microsoft Remix Hotel Suite to do a quick session for Dave Ghetto's recorded live session. Which was a good look. But back to my hosting duties at Sunset Sessions!! I did some sick sets between Coldcut, Lady Sovereign, Jamie Lidell, The National Trust, Vitalic, $mall ¢hange, Louie Vega, DJ Alain Vinet, Hanna Haïs and Cirque du Soleil. During one section of my skit-like performances, I shared the stage with the man like Aloe Blacc, an amazing artist who made our freestyle set look like we rehearsed, as he flipped from straight spitting, to chatting reggae, to rhyming in Spanish. We murkkkked it! Then hottly following After Coldcuts set, their M.C Juice Aleem joined me to show the U.S how we do in the UK. Big boy business!! :) Other highlights of the night include Lady Sov doing a very funny Killa Kela imitation :), and seeing Keith Richards (the rolling stones) partying with us kids! After, we headed to the Contagious Party at Metropolis, with impressive multi-room facilities offering many different themed rooms for the ever mislead punter. Also in the house was Zinc, Skibbadee, Fabio, Infusion, Dj Rap & more. Skibba handed me the mic and we smashed it! Sunday First real day of rest, but not for long! Straight to the Contagious daytime party with Craze, Juju, Reid Speed & more. From there, we hit up C1rca's party with The Rub, Fort Knox 5 & more at DJ Contra's night. I mc'd alongside the dynamic duo; Canadian DJ Royalty Mat The Alien and Vinyl Ritchie. I hit a little beatbox set at the end. Standerd proceedure. Then we headed off to the Triple 5 Soul Time Warp party with Bugz in The Attic, Benji B, Spinna, Rich Medina, Tiombe and Wajeed (Platinum Pied Pipers) and others. Aloe and Daz from Bugz sorted me out with a mic and from there it was fiya! Another new crowd hit up! Monday Went into studio with Jack Splash from Plant Life. I'm not gonna give away too much about what I did crew, but he got me doing some different stuff to say the least! He also played us some of his tracks with Cee Lo, together they're known as Love Stink and they're ready to do some serious damage once Cee Lo's Gnarles Barkley project runs its course. After soundcheck, we headed back in studio with Mayday. Later than night, we hit the Hiphop stage at World of Drum & Bass. SICK! Mat The Alien was in the house dropping tunes with the help of DJ Craze who ended up being our soundman when things got a little too technical.. Mmm. I got on and blasted out a non stop set, then after about 30 minutes Torontos Beatboxer Poizunus hit the stage for a session, then Craze jumped up too for a not-so-ordinary freestyle! It was an antistatic mouthwash of a Miami kind! Smasher!! One time only colab and one I'll not forget man. Then Craze and Mayday did the same! Afterwards it was off to a breaks party with Stanton Warriors., Freq Nasty and more. I ended up M.C'ing for Deekline, then did my own thing. From there it was off to the hotel then the airport. :( (1) Miami heat (2) with BOBBITO (3) with LADY SOVEREIGN (4) with MAT THE ALIEN (5) with CRAZE, MAYDAY, POIZUNUS (6) with TERRY HUNTER (7) with SKIBBA and FABIO (8) with JACK SPLASH from PLANTLIFE (9) with JAMIE LIDELL Last edited by spectrum; Apr 02, 06 at 01:20 PM. |

Favs had to have been sasha + Digweed at space. Watching the sun rise on the space terrace to Desyn masiello and James Zabiela, Suprised we made it that far with the non stop Jager Bombs me and Rhia were drinking!
Saw Recordings party at shine was nuts so packed in there it took longer to get out of the club then it did to get in. Sneaking into some VIP party with free beer all night at the National pool side. paying $22 for a weak ass double Gin and tonic at amika Ultra was nuts, saw more DJ's in 8 hours then I would in a year in Vancouver. Darren Emerson is someone i would love to see again for a full set. Sander was great his "this is miami" track killed. Was nice hanging out with Rhia, Christine, and Akeel, and having a home group of Vancouver people to party with! definitely made the trip a lot more fun. I stayed an extra 3 days after everyone to chill on the beach and the weather was so nice and hot. Best weather of the trip! 3 words; jerry's famous deli There were so many other nights to write about but i had a terrible trip home and my brain isnt working righ now. Ill write after i sleep for 20 hours... |

As far as live sets go, I think most of them were recorded. Im hearing that the saw recording party sets are floating around the net as well as most the sets from space and some from ultra. Its just a matter of time before they are all easily availible, I already have James zabila's sunrise set from the space terrace and i've been online for about an houre since i got home.

Jon Fugler - This is miami (Sander K Edit), Who else played it at WMC? I know sander played it for pretty much every set he played, I cant see many other DJ's having this. The vocals are done by the same guy who did the vocals for "the fruit" |

Best trip ever!
Spending a week in South Beach changed my life!!! Too many pics/stories to post. I had such a blast with Kyle ("your the same when your drunk, your just way more beligirent!"), Rhia ("My boobs are wet grrrrrrrr"), Christine (when Rhia stole her shower..."FUUUCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!") and of course Akeel for what happened @ Shine @ The Saw recordings party! I will never forget that but I won't tell anyone what happened. I'm glad you enjoted meeting Sander's manager Rhia, I'll be hangin with him some more in Amsterdam so your welcome to come. I'm also glad that the LMR party was your favorite night of the trip Christine! It was funny seeing Azim there. Best night of my life...hanging out with guys like Sander, Dub Fire (Deep Dish), Satoshi, Max Graham and Rene Amesz. But the best thing about the trip was the vibe. For the first couple of days everyone was playing house music. Cars, stores, every resteraunt and hotels. People were beautiful and friendly. Warm weather (a little cloudy). Beautiful women... (not from New Jersey hahahahah....). The best part about the trip was that it was a great balance of business and pleasure. I made so many killer contacts, learned a lot about the business and still found time to see most of the DJs that I wanted to see. I could go on but I think that I will leave it at that.
