The Phat Conductor is one of the fastest rising names in breaks the world over. Signed to Canada’s own 2Wars alongside Scissorkicks, Jelo, and The Incredible Melting Man, his first release ‘Garage Sale Symphony’ set critics' eardrums aflame, culminating in his being selected for the URB magazine's Next 100 issue in 2003. That summer his new single Ice-9, which reached #4 at the world famous Vinyl Addiction sales chart, could be heard pounding over the airwaves on Ministry of Sound Radio as well as in clubs all across the globe. Be sure to keep an ear out for his new releases Kill That Funk, with the Electrician on WOMP, and Cannibal Orgy on 2Wars with Dave Dub. Both tunes have already been getting play on the BBC.

whoah! how did i miss this thread?

anyway, i'm totally pumped to come out and kill shit. i'll be debuting my new audio/video thing so it should be a blast. it is nice to finally be able to fuse my art and music into one creative beast.

i am also graduating from the university of toronto this thursday, so this will be my full-time music kickoff :D

This teaser consists of the Price Cuts remix I did with Dave Dub (coming out on Lab Rok), the Rawhill Cru remix we did, and then a tune I'm working on with Lorin Bassnectar. The first two are finished, just not out yet... I did a house tune with Jelo that will be dropping soon too, you can hear it in my Shambhala live set at www.thephatconductor.com/tracklist-shambhala.htm.

I also have a new band called the Department Of Motion. We are a 4 piece from Toronto consisting of myself on beats, bass, composition, production, etc.. Clara on vocals, Iain on guitars and bass, and the illustrious Stu doing the recording engineering. We should be ready to start doing live shows by the summer.

The first one I made for my girlfriend nunich for christmas (hence the covert living room samplings) the little short one is just getting started (to give you an idea what the process is like) it didn't have vocals or instrumental parts at that time. Then there's an as-yet-unnamed dubby tune, and this 15/8 time signature thing I did for Iain for Bravo (a canadian arts network) there's a video in the works. I can't wait.

....and last but not least, here is some of my original artwork which will be all mashed up on the video screens as part of the performance:
