Automatic presents:
THE HOSPITAL RECORDINGS 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR
LONDON ELEKTRICITY
CYANTIFIC
Back in 1996 (while
High Contrast, Logistics and
Cyantific were all still in short trousers) two chaps from North West London were busy setting up their own little label as an outlet for their left of centre drum and bass creations. Who would have thought that 10 years later the label would have become the multi-national-corporate-superpower that is
HOSPITAL RECORDS! (ahem).
The
London Elektricity saga began way back in '96, and up until 2002
London Elektricity was a double-act. Tony Colman and Chris Goss made their mark in 98 with the epic
"Song In The Key Of Knife", and subsequent critically acclaimed debut album
"Pull The Plug". In 2002 Tony took on the project solo, as Chris concentrated on taking the NHS empire to the next level. Numerous singles followed, and both
London Elektricity and the
Hospital label (now home to such luminaries as
High Contrast, Logistics, Q-Project and
Nu:Tone continued to explode.
With the release of
''Billion $ Gravy'' in 2003, London Elektricity showed that their brand of "fast soul music" had a wide following throughout the scene. The strength of the response prompted the formation of
London Elektricity Live, and for 2 years between "Gravy" and 2005's Album
"Power Ballads" Tony and the band played over 150 gigs reaching a quarter of a million people with their Live Drum & Bass spectacular! Consisting of live drums, live double bass, organ, effects, and multiple vocalists the live experience soon came to be THE must-see drum and bass show anywhere played.
London Elektricity has become a byword for groundbreaking 'fast soul music', ramming venues, destroying drum & bass crowds, leaving huge smiles from the Big Chill to Glastonbury and beyond.
Flip the script again in 2006. Expect see London Elektricity back behind the decks with sets from London to Japan to Malaysia, Australia, California, Eastern Europe and onwards. UK Drum & Bass on a global scale...
CYANTIFIC joined the
Hospital fold in the summer of 2002 on a
High Contrast tip-off. Appearances on the
Plastic Surgery and
Hospital Mix Series kicked things off, followed by a string of successful singles, including the electro thumper
"90" and oldskool rinse-out
"LITTLE GREEN MEN". Cyantific have also been busy on the remix tip too - turning out re-rubs for the likes of the
NEXTMEN, OMNITRIO & DEEP BLUE, and more recently their massive re-work of the moving shadow rave anthem
"COLD FRESH AIR".
In 2005 the Cyan machine stepped up to the next level with the massive 12"
"OUTPUT / REINCARNATION DUB". Which was caned by DJs all over the spectrum of drum and bass. Their latest release bring their very first LP to the table, and the success of
"GHETTO BLASTER" is guaranteed judging by the enthusiastic response it's received on dubplate by the cream of the global DJ crop.
