trying to find somewhere to rent in vancouver...
is harder than finding a frikkin' job! (somewhere that is actually desirable)
my lover and i both have good jobs, soild referances and we're super friendly and socialable yet we're having the hardest time finding a place to rent in vancouver. why can't landlords/home owners understand that there are responsible pet owners?!?! i am so glad that when we decided to move that we did not give notice otherwise we'd probably be homeless come 10/01! Check out the Vancouver West area... around VGH and what not.
I live up on Oak n 13th with the boy in a real big place... we had a kitty when we moved in too we just had to pay a pet deposit. There's a lot of different places with signs up around here and I think the average is about $700-800 for a nice one bedroom... $900+ for a two bedroom. Basically you need to walk around the area to get numbers though as a lot of places don't advertise. |

^that trick works well for apartments but we're looking for a basement suite
we both desire a yard, or access to a yard and need to be on the ground floor so that we can let the damn cat out :@ we're also hoping to stay in ghetto east van (l) thanks for the suggestion though! :0) |

i know..........unless u have no pets, 2000$/month to spend on a furnished appt in yaletown/cole harbour.........
theres nothing but dinchy east van and suburbia.... theres still a few one bedrooms/bachlors in the west end........u gotta walk around every morning/early afternoon to catch them as the put out the sign.... then stand outside the building and call RIGHT AWAY! and take it......or u might not have anything to take come 10/01... good luck......... |

there are actually a lot of suites that fit our criteria, unfortunately there is a lot of competition for those places. if you're lucky enough to get a call back after writing an essay about yourself and get a chance to see then have to go through the meet and greet, which would not be so bad except there are a ton of other meet and greeters :\
we actually did manage to 'WOW' one tenant and were offered a place but we really were not happy with the neighborhood so we turned it down. that at least gave us hope that we have the ability to 'WOW' another tenant!!! |
