AHA - did you eat paint chips as a child. "if you are sneaky you know how to miss the speed traps" you need to lose your priviledge. |

Everyone knows where they are, can't help it some people are just too damn ignorant follow the information that's provide through various radio station and statments from police. So your saying if you heard on the radio that so and so road has a speed trap you will open it up and rip it down that road? Well actually you would, cause you've had plenty of warning that police were cracking down on speeders at knight street and you speed on it anyways. Last edited by OwNeD; Oct 19, 06 at 09:41 AM. |

I misunderstood what you meant. You are correct and if they are a restricted device, like the transmitter that emergency vehicles have to change lights to green on approach, are found installed on your vehicle then you are nailed. If A cop ghosts me like the one in Oregon then I have no chance to avoid him. But if I am a kilometer away and he sees me flying towards him I'd like to hear the explaination as to how he ascertained my speed. |

Im not just talking about myself driving in the mroning... im talking about 90% of morning drivers. I just find it ironic how so many ppl keep on thinking we need to crack down on drunk drivers when really I think we get more accidents on the road due to lack of sleep and stress. And quit putting wrods in my month, I never said I speed when Im late. I know better that its better to be 5 minutes late than get a $300 ticket. Im not complaining about excesive speeding of say 20km+ over the speeding limit. Im talking about everyday driving where 70% of drivers go at a constint 10-15km's over the limit. Yet every once in awhile someone is sigled out and ticketed for it. It's one of those thigns where everyone does it... like running the tale end of a yellow light and just getting hit with the red (like greg). Its a whole diffrent story when you have somone clearly breaking the rules like excesive speeding or running a red light on purpose. Did you know that you can get a $135 fine for passing in the right lane? Now imagine getting cought on that!?! Owned: You obviously dont drive. Like I said realisticly the majority of drivers dont do 50km's. They are well into 55-65km's... usualy cops turn a blined eye becuase ITS SAFER to go at the speed of traffic than slow it down by going 50 and piss everyone off. Not to mention both my tickets were given because I had to speed up and pass someone. However the new rule now is you cant use that as an excuse... even though I was making the safer choice. you just told us that you feel better/safer when driving after a few drinks compared to when you drive in tired in a frosted vehicle in the mornings. what exactly am i supposed to think about this? tell me, humour me. typical fnk hypocrisy from the elite. if one of these ravers said what you said, avana, cubed and anyone else in the hive mind would jump down their throats. ******this line down is regarding the thread, not the quoted post. Once again, wtf are we supposed to think? you keep complaining about your ticket then saying you've made your bed. part of making your bed is to stfu and accept the fact that you're a screw up. you got 2 different speeding tickets on knight street. if that isn't the picture of stupidity, then i don't know what is. save the bullshit flow of traffic excuse. speeding is speeding is speeding. i'm a fucking guy and i go 50. ya know why? because i know that saying "flow of traffic" to a cop will still get you a ticket. what type of ignorant shit is that? if you're speeding take it like an adult and eat the ticket. if you get caught speeding again on the same road, i believe the term is "shame on you" ignorance of the law, or "everyone else was doing it" isn't an excuse. my horse is fucking high because i don't leave myself exposed for stupid shit like this, then come in and complain about it. i got hit with a ticket earlier this year for going 65. so i was speeding and i got caught, its not like i start crying and whining and creating threads because of my fuck ups. all it did was remind me why i normally drive 50. i don't give a fuck if i'm messing up the flow. if the flow is gonna pay for my tickets then maybe i'll speed up, but until that happens, i really don't care if i'm inconviencing some schmuck behind me. i act like how avana tries to act, except i don't come on here and give folks a shit load of ammunition to use against me, and then claim some bullshit excuses when i get called on said shit. hey cubed: your girl can fight her own battles. she should be able to anyways right? she's educated and well spoke right? but you can't hear this because my face is stuck in a horse' ass? wow, at least i don't use lame ass shit like that. OMG YOUR FACE IS IN A BUM. HAHAHAHA. try to just have 1 of you respond. i don't need to be writing back to each person in the hive mind. k thx. |

I have gotten off FOUR tickets by simply telling the officer that I was following the flow of traffic. As for the rest of your comments directed at Rhia/Cubed/Avana, maybe you should try to stay focused on the TOPIC AT HAND instead of handing out immature name-calling insults? Yeah, yeah, you're a saint. We get it. You probably didn't drink before you were 19, you've never done a drug, etc.. If I'm wrong, who are you to be talking about "the law"? |

On a seriouse note... are you sure yoru not having a bad day? Becuase I've never seen such a lame attempt to diss me on my spelling, expect better form a teacher, and getting my bf to back me up comments??? Like come on, I thought you could do better than that!?! PS: you might want to fix your shift key and learn to spell "shittalker", "humour", and "inconviencing"... just so you can really make it look like I can't spell ;) PPS: I'm not a teacher. |

I just looked it up on the ICBC website. In the states, heck yeah. You can also get a ticket for driving in the left lane if you are not passing. |
|

Its all based on the circumstance that causes police to let you off with a warning just because YOU got off of four tickets telling them you were going with the folow of traffic doesn't mean someone else in the same situation would.

As for your comment to me. Why are you assuming that I don't drive? Again as I said before the police usually allow for a 10% / 10KM above the posted limit as a buffer. Alot of people go 60-65 because everyone knows that's the border line that there's a possibility of getting away with it. Its not SAFER to go faster then the speed limit nor is it legal. They just allow it because there are so many factors that can contribute to you going faster or slower then the speed limit. Such as hills, speedometer messed up a few KM here and there. If everyone drove 50 then there should be no problems with drivers being pissed off is there? But there are speeders out there that get pissed off because people are going the speed limit. Your choice isn't safer when you try to pass someone going 50. Your being wreakless and unsafe because now your being agressive by wanting to pass them. Why couldn't you have just followed behind and went 50 like they were you would not have gotten a ticket. Going with the "flow" of traffic at a higher speed then posted is alway a risk of being ticketed it doesn't matter what the community thinks. You can get away with it possibly because (this is just an asumption) but if cops see like 30 cars in a pack going at 65 you really think the two cops there will haul over all 30 cars just to pass out speeding tickets? |

Hot Karl here tells you that IF the first sentence he wrote was about your spelling and such would be unrealistic and ignorant and you don't catch it. Yeh okay. |
|

:) They can hold up in court but yes I agree they can be disputed. Alot of these tickets that are given can be disputed and alot of the times would be thrown out. Its a 50/50 thing. But some people here think it would be unethical to do such a thing because they know they were speeding in the first place.
|
|
|||
it's pretty simple.....DONT SPEED and you dont have to deal with excuses, and disputing and points etc.
i've been driving for 4 years and i've NEVER had a speeding ticket......cuz i never speed......it's pointless.......it's dangerous and it wastes gas |

Owned: I never recall being sarcastic... I just find it ironic how the justice system can sometimes work. I know what im like driving in the morning, now imagine a buisness man with only 4 hours sleep or mother trying to take her 3 kids to school and htan head off to work. I will agree with you that the comunities way is not the right way... However it's not realistic at all to go 50kms with out cars screeming passed you in rage or tail gating you... do you think thats safer than going 60-65 with the flow of traffic? Both my tickets were given to me beacause I was passing. Take my first ticket in 5 years... I was driving up a steep hill in North van. Im in the left lane and in the blind spot of the car to the right going aprox 45kms. Thinking ahead, I know that at the top of the hill the two lanes merge into one as it hits the intersection. Either I slow down to 40-45kms and drive behind the car (un realistic to 90% of our drivers out there) or I speed up and pass. I go up to about 70 to fully pass the car in time and bam theres a cop with a radar gun at the top. Now you try and tell us that cops give us 15kms for going up/down hills. Well guess where the majority of cops set up with their radar guns? At the top/bottom of hills and at long streaches of road. One of the worst places I know with cops setting up is the first exit after the Port Man highway east bound by the PNE. They expect you to go from 80-50kms while going down a hill. the only time I have been ticketed was once by a female cop and twice by old, grumpy male cops...I seem to usually be able to sweet talk and/or cry my way out of ones with younger guy cops, but not this last guy in the states! boy I wanted to get out and kick his ugly state patrol car :( |
