*grumble* 11:59 Shoppers
Ok, first off, I work at Save-On Foods, the only shifts I ever get for some reason are night shifts, usually the closing shifts(till 12:15 or 12:30).
Now this is just a warning to you all. If your grocery store closes at 12, START SHOPPING AT 11:15. If it closes at 10, START AT 9:15. I swear if more and more ppl start catching onto this "It's 11:59, let's just go through the exit cause the entrance is locked because the store is closed, and GO SHOP FOR THE NEXT YEARS RATIONS". 1) You piss of the managers, expect below standard treatment. 2) Your friendly(not by choice) cashier, get's off within the next 15, and now you are standing at his till at 12:14, and your order is gonna take atleast 5 minutes to process, YOUR GOING TO PISS OFF THE CASHIER. DONT SHOP JUST BEFORE CLOSING! *agro's* ~j

i know what you mean dude. fuck it's so annoying. i work at The Dog's Ear t-shirt store...and it closes at 6. people come in at 5:59 to get a t-shirt made? wtf?? and if they want letters put on a tshirt, it takes a FEEEEEW minutes to do. so last saturday i was REALLY agro and some stupid ugly bitch and her uglier boyfriend came in and they were like "WE WANT A TSHIRT MADE!" and i was like "fine. t-shirts are right behind you" and it was already past 6. and then they were like "we want to get "Kiss me! I'm a football player" written on the shirt!" and i was like "alright...you'll have to pick it up on monday though" and then they were like "WHAT?!! WHY?!! DO IT NOW!!" so that just set me off and i was like "do me a favor...look behind you at our hours of operation sign...what does it say right beside the word "SATURDAY"?" and the girl was like "10:30 to 6pm" and i was lke "goooooood...now look up at the clock and tell me what time it is" and she was like "6:12" and i was like "you do the math" and they walked out. my boss was laughing though. i guess he finds me funny and entertaining. i'm glad.

i know just what you fucking mean! i am a cashier at save on and i used to work the late shifts all the time... oooh and those stupid people who tried to shop late... or the worst is when you're off in like, 5 mins, it's like, 11:59 or whatever.... and then all of a sudden your line up is like, 10 people long!!! and you're like, where the fuck did these people come from??? cuz you thought the store was empty!! i fucking hate that. and usually, if i am forced to work OVER my shift time, i just close my till and say "SEE YA" we're legally enitled to to that. because of the union hahah i have found sooo many positive things the union brings us... such as they can't fire us unless we steal... um i can call in sick like, every sunday (i used to do that after parties) and they coudn't do anything... hahahah it's all good

heellllz ya i know waht you guys are talking about (clink and automatik)..i work at the marine dr. slave on in north van and i'm a cashier...i fucken hate working until 12:15....thats when the big orders come through! because people think there won't be any line ups at that time so they get like 80 buggies full of food to last them months and months...FUCK clink i didn't know that! i could just like walk off till if i wnated cuz of the union? i'm so going to do taht! stupid save on fucken foooods...oh well i only make $8.60 right now cuz i started in august last year...how much do you guys make?
i think i get a "yeeah a 25 cent raise" after 500 hours of working,,,but i don't know when that will be! Long live slave on.. peace to all you cool kids~

well , i don't know if the union technically lets you walk off till, but if your shift is over, then its OVER. finish the order, and close your till. if you have a line, just say "well, i'm off now. you'll have to move to another till"
and no one can do anything about it!!!

I know what it feels like... I hate 11:59 shoppers. I used to work at safeway and I hate it when the store is closing up and people rush in. Well it's a good thing that I worked in the stocking section. I basically clocked out whenever my shift was over. But the cashiers had it hard.
and clink... you're so right... :) They can't do jack shit to you. I was one of the biggest, meanest, mofos in the grocery industry, literally, I scored really low points for customer service and they hollered at me, threatened me, hinted that they were gonna fire me, but they could not get rid of my... LOL!!! My bad customer service skills brought down the whole store average, but I didn't care, they weren't paying me enough to put up with the shit we put up. And besides, the managers are lazy-mofos.... they make us do THEIR work too, so why the hell should we give a crap?? haha... I finally quit b/c they put me onto night crew.

ah yes, union is lovely!!
i don't wear my uniform... you know, the white shirt, save on tie, black pants with no pockets and black dress shoes...nope nope!! i sport my skate shoes, no tie, and no nametag most of the time!! and i can be late, i can close my till early... and i wander off.. .hahah i am never at my till... i will do ANYTHING to get away!! then my manger tried to tell me i was not allowed to leave the little "box" of my till I WAS IN JAIL!!! but i ran away... muahahahah and they can't do anything... or the time i called in sick at 8:00am, 15 mins before my shift... aaaah... i was so sketchy, i couldn't talk. i was like "me noo... work bad... me no work bad... me uh... sick!! yeah sick...no work!!" hahahahah and they didn't do shit hahah take advantage of it!
