They may claim that but in reality the stuff they wrote while they were shitfaced sometimes just plain turns out better.
I suppose it does vary from person to person, but a buddy of mine who outright hates essays managed to finish 8 months of his English class in about a month (self-paced course) just by showing up every day drunk. And he scored good marks on it too!
Probably the worst time of the year to test the theory out, but the next time you've got an annoying lit class down the pipes give the writing-while-boozed a shot.
