Fido's totally not as good for plans as they used to be. Everyone ripped off their unlimited incoming calls, and since Rogers took over, they haven't done a whole lot in terms of plans or phones. Telus has some good plans lately. They have an unadvertised plan called EPP1730 that, with the SAF and 911 charge put in, comes to $25 + tax. For that, you get 200 daytime, unlimited evenings/weekends at 6pm, and voicemail. Throw in the Spark 10 bundle:
products & services / SPARK / how do I get SPARK? / add a SPARK bundle - TELUS Mobility - British Columbia, and you've got a better and cheaper plan than Fido. I'm about to drop Fido myself pretty soon. Their customer service I've found is mediocre. I actually really liked Telus, I should've never switched.
If you have been with Fido for a while though, you can call Customer Service, ask to speak with retentions, and they should be able to give you a deal similar to that Telus one. The most common one I've heard is basically everything in that Telus deal, but 250 minutes for $20. Unlimited incoming can be added, and if you've been with them long, you could possibly get a free bundle, or discounts on the plan for the duration of a contract, or caller ID, something extra for free.
