yeah I only got in my apartment 10 minutes before the alarm started, and I'm pretty drunk but it's still very annoying and I would have tried to go to sleep.

I hate my fire alarm. I live in a very old building and the alarm is really loud and scary.

It's like we're in Auschwitz or something.

mine once went at 5am till 6 am the firetruck came finally after like an hour and the bell is right outside my front door and my room is right at the door..grrr. i had to work in the morning and didnt get to sleep till like 2am. then it went off not even 2 min later and it went for another 15min then went off again over and over ...it was broken or something. man was i pissed. i feel ur pain carrie<3 my cats were pretty upset too:(

^^^ Wow, you're patient! I would've gone in a car or one of the amenities after about 10 minutes.

This shit would happen in UBC res, sometimes during exam periods. You know, to really get you in a good mood for your 8 a.m.

so I crawled into bed last night after a long day out in the ridge at quarter to two,

at a couple minutes before 2am the fire alarm turned on, for 5 minutes then it stoped for 2 minutes and then it rang a couple times and stoped for another minute and then rang again.. wtf

at the end of it all they can tell me is that the situation has been dealt with..

I wanna know who's idea it was to burn something or pull the alarm at 2 am !!

I live in a dorm, and the fire alarm goes off numerous times a semester.

All I do is take a big towel and hang it over the alarms out in the hall, it deadens the sounds preaty good and I can get on with my life.

Hmm I thought that was illegal. It generally does go against all strata violations if you know an apartment or even a townhouse - not sure about your own home, though. I would suspect fire insurance - which is mandatory from what I hear - would warrant that if this is discovered you'd not be receiving any money for your house or partial damages, as they may happen.

Lately it hasn't been so bad, but when I first moved in to my building the fire alarm would go off about 2-3 times a week.

I'm not sure exactly what is setting it off, but apparently it's always in the IGA parking lot next door, and the contractor decided to save money by linking up the system with the two towers.

The scary thing is nobody seems to pay attention to it anymore.
