it's ok....i'm willing to bet the thread starter meant RHD as well....which would be pretty embarassing because it's mainly only fanboys or well informed people looking for niche vehicles that drive cars brought in under the 15 year rule. Either way, if you're importing a RHD car, I would hope they know the difference between left and right.
But as I mentioned, there are a very small number of LHD cars over in japan that you can bring here, so I'm giving PARTY the benefit of the doubt...........although I don't know why. |

It's a LHD BMW 325i imported from Nagoya, Japan. The frickin paperwork has 2 import numbers! It's beyond frustrating. To make a long story short, the coupe is sitting at the port with a pretty worried custom broker and customer. We've cleared the container, but it has to pass customs, just like a person.
Every car has a passport too called the VIN number. The Japanese cars can trade VIN numbers for North American VIN numbers because they are too short (ironically) But the European numbers are usually perfect for ICBC, the company responsible for insuring the vehicle. Thanks. You're talking about a Delica? Yeah, nice car man, but I'm a Pajero fan myself. |

Your post made me feel better. Those Japanese make some pretty nice cars. A glimpse of hope: The VIN number on the paperwork looks to match the description of the vehicle at the port. The last failsafe is the physical check on the chassis which will be checked this weekend.
My car is a 2 door coupe, not a 4 door saloon that was marked on some repair documents. I hate dealers who shove a bunch of papers in trunks and sell cars. fuck you fuckers. ---------------------------@(-_-)@---------------------------------- I'm a private importer, I'm doing this as an experiment. So far, I've found importing somewhat painful and deliberating. Terra, Max Overdrive, Cannonball and other car importers will do a better job, but they won't always get what you want and then again...maybe they will. I'll stick to music. KONICHIWA BITCHES, I HEARD YOU GUYS LIKE JAPANESE CARS, SO ME AND THE GUYS AT GAS CUSTOMS TOOK YOUR DOMESTIC PIECE OF SHIT AND FILLED THE GLOVE BOX WITH MEDICAL GRADE KIKKOMAN SOY SAUCE. DIZZY DAVE DID HIS THING ON HORN, CHANGING IT FROM "HONK HONK" TO THE SOUND OF YOUR MOTHER SAYING "WHY COULDN'T YOU GET INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL? ME AND YOUR FATHER GAVE YOU EVERYTHING". THE FINISHING TOUCH WAS TO INSTALL A SLIGHTLY SHORTER EXHAUST PIPE. HAPPY V TECH, MOTHERFUCKERS!
