I like how you went through so much extensive searching to provide seperate links all detailing the exact same problem. The usb port issue is well known to anyone using a macbook or macbook pro and audio programs and the solution is simple: use the other port.
Again you're doing nothing but talking out of your ass.

Yeh I've had this problem before and all I did was switch ports and stick to that one and all was fine.
if you get Leopard and download the 1.1 system update patch - it fixes the issue too.
Just a note also, the USB port only really affects audio devices - you can set up a mouse, usb harddrive, or something to the "problem" port and it'll work fine.

I don't really see why anybody would need more than 1 USB port for audio devices anyways.... particularly on a laptop (probably what the developers thought too when they shipped)
