Yeah definitely a lot to pay for Hossa. It'd make sense if they could afford to resign him, but I don't see how they plan to do that.


Marc-Andre Bergeron traded from the Isles to the Ducks for a third. Analysis to come on this as well.

Fredrik Sjostrom, David Leneveu and Josh Gratton to the Rangers for Marcel Hossa and Al Montoya.

Kings trade JS Aubin to Anahiem for a 7th round pick.

^i didnt like it at first, but he has a good track record, aside from this season. He gets to be close to where he grew up and away from a coach he doesn't get along with, big things might happen. cooke is great and ill miss the smirk but kesler, burrows ect can do for us what he does.

overall I'm glad that Nonis stood pat instead of making a dumb trade for the sake of making a splash. if he doesn't improve this team before next years playoffs than I'll be upset but as is the Canucks have all major assets under contract through next year except Naslund.

now we can forget all this trade crap and focus on the playoffs (hopefully)!

honestly there have been some players over the years that I really care about but when it comes right down to it cheer for the laundry not the player. for that exact reason few if any players will get their numbers retired in NJ because no player is bigger than the team in Lou Lamoriello's eyes. in all fairness though I've had a chip on my shoulder against Mike Keenan since around February 6, 1998.
