You are simply tlaking about how you don't like the sound most breakbeat djs are playing. Well you ask a panel of ten ravers the same question and they will tell you different. They love the sound. And yeah you are right a lot of it is shit. I already told Malicious Mike how his production licked balls. But thats b/c he was boastful about it. I think to bash it like you are doing is like saying you hate jews b/c they have big noses when not every jew has a big nose. You can't tell me every breakbeat that comes out of florida sucks! especially if you like Uk breaks. a lot of florida is jumping that bandwagon and hell, they are doing a great job. I lived my life bashing florida djs/producers but i wisened up and now have a lot of respect for those who didnt jump on that uk bandwagon and are still playin that florida funk. |

dj category? There is no specific uk sound. TCR does their thing. Plastic raygun do another thing. Blim and the freq do their own thing. Fingerlicking definitely does its own thing too. Its not like florida where everything's a sample and cheesey. I might have made a generalization about the florida sound, but that was only because 95% of the time, the generalization is spot-on. I have no respect for djs that stick with shitty music. Its not about jumping on the bandwagon. ITS ABOUT PLAYING GOOD MUSIC! There's more breaks out there then just the stuff coming out of florida and the uk Kool herc and grandmaster flash were playing ALL KINDS OF BREAKS and never once threw down a tony faline or a rennie pilgrem song. |

florida sux. it sounds like Nintendo. it's all about the Nu-skool. Not the breaks that sound like speed garage kids, but the real Nu-skool. If ya know what i mean.
Just a little bit sick of all tha cheesey samples like....break it, or break down, or funk this and funk that,blablablabla......lame!!! |

Ryan man.. yeah i played white powder way before it came out cause sharaz gave it to me.. but who cares about that... my main concern is people who say shit about someone and say it like their oppinion is the only one that counts.
matty 7.0: man that's great that you don't like someone's production but if it works for them and that's their style who gives a FUCK! that whole mike comment, if that's the way you feel fine what ever. but it must work really well for him concidering he plays every weekend right. Don't get me wrong people I like nu-skool and 2-step and all those breaks, but it's not my style of music... i play what i've played for the longest time and that's my style. It's so my style that i even produce the shit ok! obviously it's doing well for me cause i'm doing well for myself. so to end this fucking shit! TO EACH THEIR MUTHA FUCKIN OWN... and party safe everyone... enjoy whatever music you like to listen to, cause it's all good to me! CINTO :kam: |

Everyone is also intitled to there own option. I mean there are ppl out there that like fuckin HHC. I mean I hate it but Doesn't mean I think I am better because I like Jungle and breaks... I think we need to let everyone have there own options on things. I am also sure all those Dj's out there have there own options on style too so thats why they play what they play! I must admit we need a good party that brings it back to tha old skooL!!!!

people still argue about which musical genre is better that the othere!? wtf? are you all fucking idiots!?!? no fucking style is better or worse than any other. theres tons of nu skoool that is just utter fucking shit and i fucking hate it. theres tons of florida that is utter fucking shit and i hate it. theres also stuff in both genres that are simply unbelievable. OMG I JUST REMEMBERED THERES OTHER STYLES BESIDE BREAKS!! HAHA OMG LOL!!!111 its all opinion people!!!!! holy shit it just amazes me that people think one musical style is intrinsically better than another. get it through your heads, its all subjective. are you in grade 3 here or what?
no one plays bad music, people just play what they like and if you happen to not like it, go fuck yourself and dont support them. :finger: |

everybody likes something different. If the northwest scene were still entirely house and techno (like it was when i started to party in the mid 90's, trance didn't get big till the late 90's and breaks were always in the side room till about that time) it probably would not exist outside of bars and clubs. i used to go to underground parties here in portland where there would be 2000 people freaking out to doc martin, steve loria and mark farina on a bi-monthly basis. it was mostly house music in portland and seattle, but donald, dan and czech had the breaks, and you could get all 3 of em at one party for under 1000 american.
every month, i saw 1000's of smiling faces, finding their entirely different rhythms and grooves, partying their asses off to whatever music was offered, enjoying the seemingly never-ending nights. the whole foundation that this scene was built on is that of accepting other peoples individuality. therefore, it is totally hypocritical to look down on the person next to you for being who they are. but now, everbody wants to be a dj or mc, everybody wants to coin a new genre, half the people want to take it back to the old school, the other half want to move "forward", everyone wants to think "they" or "their" are better than someone else('s). it is a sad fact that there is a scarce percentage of party-goers who actually do remember the good old days that everyone talks about. keep in mind that every party is a different experience for every person, especially within the first few years of attendance and that the average life span for a "raver" is under 3 years. all i can say is that the only constant in life is change (obviously not my quote, but you get it). drugs werent always a staple in this scene and and neither were 357 sub-genres of electronic music. if the music makes you dance then dance (don't classify, we are masses), if the music doesnt make you dance, don't get mad at the people dancing around you, just dance to the soundtrack in your head. once again, learn to accept individuality, that's what all of this was built upon.
