Cell phone viruses???

Is this possible?

I've heard rumours about it happening but I think it's true. I've downloaded images and ringtones onto my phone over the last few months (I'm with Telus). Everything was all hunky dorey until yesterday.

All of a sudden I have no text messages (I have a bad habit of forgetting to erase them) and the images I downloaded are blank... the names are there but the images aren't. My front LCD works but I'll flip it open and the main LCD is completely blank. The time freezes and so does the screen when I go to send a text message sometimes (I've stopped sending them since my problems got REAL bad though). My numbers are getting erased too! Some of the names are there but no numbers... or the entire entry is missing (like spots 6-12). Calls are sporatically coming through or not at all.

It's FUCKED!!

I just wish I could find my warranty. I just moved so I dunno which box it's in at the moment. Hopefully Future Shop will have something on file about my purchase or believe my story of viruses and loss of warranty due to moving.

Grrr...

Hey. I got a car stereo from Future shop and lost my 5 year warranty. you just have to give the some aux info and they can phone their headquarters and pull your reciept off of the data base there. They did it for me except that I found mine by the time they got it done, so you should ask them now even if you think you may find your receipt later.

also hey what kind of phone do you have I have nothing better to do than to research it and find out if there are any known issues on the net. Or you know....you could do it yourself.

Oh yeah and sending you phone in for service sucks I did mine three times in 6 monthsand then when I finally got a new one it didn't work either then it got stolen out of my car with my wallet and 600 dollars worth of Cds.

if you use any java apps on your phone, they can't really harm it. java is "sandboxed", so it keeps to itself in a sense. not too sure about the ringtones, though. where did you download them from?

is everything alright with the battery?

You get um offa the Telus website via the Wireless Web on the phone. I also check my hotmail sporatically with it too.

The battery is all good as far as I know.

I really hope they don't wanna take me phone to get fixed =( I can't be without it especially right now... it just won't work.
