i never bothered checking clubzones out, and so when i was looking for info on shine for tonight, i couldn't find anything bout it on clubvibes

I think it is because there are too many people overloading one site. Considering every barstar in the greater vancouver area(not to mention seattle etc.) is a memeber of that site.

Hi, I'm the "dictator" in question, who kicked you off for stuff they wouldn't even have tolerated on this site for 1/8th as long as I put up with.

But anyways, I digress.

It is true that the people running the other site used to work for clubvibes. I think that's way overblown, personally. I'm either friends with, or get along with, most of the staff at clubzone. They felt they wanted to set up their own site, and that's fine with me. The two sites just aren't about Vancouver, even though that's where we're both based. For instance, we have a huge following in Melbourne, AU, and other cities.

And they aren't the only nightclub websites in Vancouver. There's Wild Vancouver, Vancouver Nightlife, and others.

As for not having any information on Shine, I guess the promoter hasn't updated their information for the venue, whereas I believe a couple of the clubzone guys are friends with the owner of Shine. I can't recall how it goes exactly, but I'll look into it.

Of course, if you head over to the MyTelus music pages (http://www.mytelus.com/music/), you'll see Club Vibes is the official website for nightlife information there. So we try and be complete as possible, but it's up to the venues and promoters to keep us up to date on what's up. It's just like on here...if the promoters didn't post, then how would you know what's going on?

Anyways, I'm not here to get into a pissing match. I'm actually defending both sites, and the other sites that provide nightlife information.

I'm not much of a clubzone fan although u can tell there is no real bad blood considering their staffers showed up at the clubvibes last party....funny how they had their own party happening that night but weren't there the whole time...LOL

godessa, i'm curious about what spurned on this excessive hate of clubvibes? now, i know most of us think clubvibes is a a gongshow full of morons, but we still don't voice up about it as often and as violently as you.

the reason why CV has some of the probs it does is because of the youngins...I've met some wicked people on there however they are more lurkers than anything or old skool members. I have no shame in saying it...the concept is a great idea.

Please I don't think we should associate prejudices with the problems of CV.
It's not fair to stereotype and blame the "youngins," I'm sorry if you've met some immature/annoying people that are in the younger age range and have caused some issues but I really don't think it's valid to blame it all on age.
I'm quite young myself and I've been a member of Clubvibes for quite some time, although I hardly post or get involved in the member parties, I just use it as a source of information.
If there are any problems, it's because of individual members, not because a specific age group.

I guess I should have addressed the issue in more detail...I'm not pulling an age-ism thing at all as I've suffered through that for many years however when new lil "barstars" have made their way onto the site they have caused a lot of problems. Not to say that some of the old skoolers don't cause their fair share as well.

This is just my opinion...I'm not saying all the younger ones are a problem but currently they are causing the most drama lol

also I hang with people of all ages...it's nothing but a number :)
