To turn off the preview pane in outlook, just select the folder you want (you can't select all unfortunately, or at least, i don't know how). then under the view menu click on 'preview pane' and it'll disappear. then just do that for the rest of the folders.

if your using outlook express, then i don't know. it might be the same, but i only use outlook.
