fuckin internet's been so laggy lately

pisses me off

i type something on fnk replying to a post or something, i can write a whole paragraph and the words won't show up on the screen for another 2 minutes.

i click on msn to talk to somebody, it freeses for a moment, then about 15 seconds later the window pops up.

i'm running windows media player, its playing songs fine, but in between playing songs it takes like 5 minutes in between songs. after 2 minutes, ittells me what song is gonna play in the next 2 minutes.

i was playing a game called isketch where its like a chat room pictionary, the person is drawing a picture, i don't see it till maybe 20 seconds later when everyone else has already guessed what it was and the picture is solved

i'm playing hexic on msn, turning the pieces takes about 6 seconds when usually it should take a fraction of a second i don't even see the pieces turn. i see the final result. watching the pieces fall after getting a combo. they don't even fall, i just see what it looks like afterwards.

typing in msn and sending messages is completely fine, however.there's no lag when i'm talking to people.

all of this started happening yesterday. two days ago, i could do any of these things and it would be running fine, completely smoothly. i've restarted the computer, shut down and rebooted, nothing fixes it.

this is so frustrating.
sometimes i just want to say fuck it all and get a mac. :soak:

ya i was pretty sure it wasnt my connection... just something somehow fucked up with my computer... its getting a little better now, i don't have to wait like 5 minutes for the text to appear on the page as i'm typing it. it's still slow, but its not as bad as before :P

Another computer in the household has that exact same problem. Have absolutely no idea what could be the cause of it as I use an almost identical computer myself with no trouble whatsoever.

About the only real difference, besides certain programs that differ between the two, is that mine's on Telus ADSL, and the other's on Shaw Cable.

why don't you just use a router??
