not having a goal in life
I woke up today and it just kinda hit me that im totally floating threw life, i have no major goal in mind no dream of becoming anything, theres nothing i really want to go to school for, theres no job that i really want to have. Does this mean im one of those people who should go out and travel and try and find himself, even though i dont really like traveling. Im starting to wigg out a bit im seriously livin day to day here the only thing i have to wake up for in the morning is work, the gym and hockey :) whick is cool cause they all kick ass. The worst part of it all is i have a ton of cash saved up, i got awsome grades in high school so paying for and getting into a college or something would not be a problem i just dont have a strong enough interest to commit to it :(
anybody else in this boat if so what are u plannin on doin?? |

Post-secondary is designed to further your education in a certain field of interest you wish to pursue; if you don't have that initial interest, I can't recommend it as it would only turn out to be a glorified high school for you instead.
To be perfectly honest, there is no one true answer to your dilemma. I was in a similar boat two years ago. I found direction eventually but lost everything I had in the process. It was more or less a complete turnaround, a mental re-birth so to speak (heh... forgive the New Age jargon). Nowadays, I'm in the best spirits I've ever known, best financial situation I've ever known, 100% satisfied with my work, am dedicated towards my current goals, even if I know I won't see them in fruitation for a few years. If I may quote Tyler Durden, "It's only after we've lost everything that we are free to do anything." Little did I realize how true it was. |

i have a goal, an taht is to always paint always draw always expres myself.. as for where i'll end up, i donno yet. life is too long to know where i will be in two years. the only reason i know where i will be next year is because i am in a program at school.
knowing where you will be in 5 years takes all the fun outta life. i hvae alot of things i know i will do... but i dont know when yet. things like traveling, geting a bfa, maybe even a masters... or maybe ill end up teaching somewhere. just know your passion. |
