^ wow
One thing I cant stand about Vancouver is how a couple of brand name things have to be in every girls closet and worne none stop dispite its real purpose lol. I refuse to buy anything with large logos such as 555 soul, gap, tna that is worne by every other person out there EWWW. And as ive been told what wounderful pants lulu lemon whatever are and can look good on almost any girl and so on and could even use a great pair for the gym... I just cant let my self get sucked in. Vancouver is so sad with fads... I wish we had a lot more independent stores around that were decently priced. Last edited by Ree Fresh; Apr 02, 04 at 07:14 AM. |

I generally don't like the idea of seeing my clothes on other people so I avoid stores like Off the Wall and Aritzia. I practice yoga and pilates and yet as much as I'd like to buy a pair of those pants for the comfort factor I won't because there's tons of other similar pants that are also comfortable.
Fads seldom influence my style, I wear what I like according to my mood and I like it better this way. |

^ In defense of Off the Wall...I know all of the designers personally, and I know for a fact that each and every one of them try to steer clear of making almost the exact same product as other companies. That said, it's hard to steer clear of some things (ie the yoga pant fad) because it's what's making money at the time.
My biggest problem with the whole Lululemon/TnA Supplex fad is that it's waaaaaaaaay overpriced. The mark-up quite frankly, is ridiculous. |

they're so overplayed cuz they're so comfy!
the only thing i don't liek is when you see a chick wearing them with high heels at the bar, or has the whole ensemble on at once...the pants, the tanktop and the little hoody all at the same time is too much! personally i love the stuff. i own a pair of plain black pants and capris from lululemon, and 3 tops. i'm a very active person and i like working out or running with it on because the fabric is so light and stretchy. working out in sweats just gets too hot. |

I have the fake lulus that Galaxie mentionned, and I loovveee them. I bought them because neither tna nor lulus are long enough, but the song ones were long enough, plus $50+ cheaper. They're the comfiest pants ever, and I could care less that "everyone" is wearing them. It is pretty funny living in Kits and going to UBC though, because the pants might as well be a uniform.

rhia- i dont think vancouvers a hard place to find original clothing AT ALL..maybe not at austrailia dirt cheap price.. (depends if u do second hand clothing). Prices totally range... there are your typical thift store, to consignment stores, independent designer stores and prob a whole ton of other choices. west 4th area has awesome consignment stores, my friends at school rape those stores and find the coolest stuff. i popped my head into the clothing store on robson next to tsumani sushi with mateo a while ago.. and pretty much all their tshirts were personally designed by the store owner and each tshirt was extremly extremly limited.. (hense a tad more expensive as well). THey have way cooler guys stuff than gals though. im sure that there are tonsss of stores like that, you just have to ask around and scope the vancouver fashion world out.
original/one of a kind clothing= just takes a bit more effort to find. (its under all those tna/lulu pants...just keep digging) fun info: i met a girl today at school whos opening up a clothing store on main somewhere..and everything is hand-made and uses natural products. ex..hemp...hemp fabric...hemp THREADS.. wood beads etc. saw a few samples..totally hippied out stuff, but very neat. haha sean... ur too gangsta.
personallly i think Below the Belt is expensive too for shitty ass clothing. so they can go to hell as well. charging 120$ for a product that costs $20 is average. fuck $20 is pretty expensive for a pair of pants kuz it's FUCKIN MADE IN CHINA BITCH. it should only cost $5 kuz i could eat a whole seafood dinner on $5 in china. (haha a bit of exageration) and fuck that shit about lululemon pants only belonging in a yoga or gym class. if i was a designer, i'd want every chick sporting that shit in AND more importantly, OUT of a gym. then demand could increase at each possible selling price and i could therefore, jack up the price and still get a large demand. the TnA suits is almost a monopoly. so i can charge u mofos 120$ on a pair of pants that , to me, would only cost $5, kuz $20 is just too much. ^^ ya i agree. why buy something for cheap that will fall apart after one or two wears? jeans are my uniform...i wear jeans everyday and i tend to choose makes i trust that won't fade or tear. i've had the same pair of juicy jeans for 2 years and they are still pretty much mint. 200$ may be a lot ot spend on jeans but i will dish it out for quality and fit.

I'd probably never fork over $200+ for a pair of Juicy/Miss Sixty/Killah/Diesel/etc jeans... not 'cause they're not worth it, but because they never fit me properly.
I swear by Mavi - the styles that do fit me, fit me like a glove! The average pair of Mavi jeans costs around $80 - but if they jacked up the price to $200+ I'd pay it simply because it's hard for me to find jeans that fit properly. |

^^ ye i <3 Diesel.. alot of my friends didnt kno wtf Diesel was til i wore their cloths and shit.. there's not that much Diesel clothing in BC tho.. in Montreal there was a Diesel store.. it was great...
but ye... anyways.. u kno how they have like the brasilian style clothing.. low shit.. well they over price waaaaaaay to much.. like 3 yrs ago my mom went to Brasil to visit family.. and she musta bought me like 20shirts.. all at like 1$,2$, 3$ most expensive was like 5$...AMERICAN! .. my mom didnt buy me the pants cuz she didnt kno if i liked them.. then a couple months later their all coming out in stores for like 100$.. where i couldve got them for like 5$-8$ american... pretty ironic ehh.. and that was like 3 yrs ago.. imagine now.. 3 yrs later.. probably be more cheaper.... jus might as well save all that money u buy on expensive clothing here and buy a plane ticket to sum foreign city and buy the same cloths for cheaper.. plus u go on vacation... :p |

okay..here it goes, i went to OTW to try on their supplex pants and wow they were comfortable. way too long though... but from what i remember hearing, otw hems pants. they were i believe 65 bucks.. very plain/simple cutting, very TINY song label (you can hardly see it). im actually thinking of getting a pair.. nat's online sales worked on me. |

ladies lululemon is your friend. don't deny you know you look hella hot in them. whether you are a big girl with an ass, then your ass looks super tight and shapely. or whether you're a skinny girl, then the pants give you an ass to work with. don't fight the pants, embrace the pants. just my 2 cents
