I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I will continue to shake my head untill I see liscances being revolked, with no second chance of re-gaining one in the driver's lifetime.

Theres nothing wrong with speeding. As long as your car was designed by the manufactuer to do so (not by making your car look stupid with parts from Canadian Tire). And it's done in an appropiate place, IE: No where near civilization.

hot karl: sorry, i was venting.. i just didn't like what u said about saying all four was stupid because one of them happened to be a friend. and he could've been too drunk to make a smart decision (like taking a cab home if he had money).
and i wish you would have some respect for people that die because even if they were stupid, you should learn to let that go instead of making such remarks.

THANK YOU!

I love how everyone is always so quick to blame the driver - yeah, it is his/her fault that the car crashed, but it's not his/her fault that you chose to get the fuck in!

the first time i did mushrooms (plus drank some beer and smoked a bowl or two) i was messed, but i was still not stupid enough to get into a car with a drunk person. the person was my boyfriend at the time, and i refused, and got my brother to drive me to the party instead.

people use alcohol as an excuse for a lot of stupid things, and thats one of my pet peeves. the one time that i could have used alcohol as an excuse, i drank a 40 of crown to myself, (i was sick for like days afterwards...BIG MISTAKE) i hit one of my best friends. but i owned up to my actions, because they were my actions.
example: "i was soooooooooo drunk and i made out with like 5 guys and they were all like so totally hot, and i know it sounds liek im such a slut but like really im totally not its just i was soooooooooo drunk." yah right.... and yes i am comparing this to " i was soooooo drunk that i jsut got into the car cause wanted to go so bad, i know it was like totally uncool but i mean like hes done i a hundred times before, and anyways i was sooooo totally drunk that i didnt know"
if you can remember your actions, you were not that drunk.

um, i'm sorry your friend died but the fact that their dead doesn't excuse how stupid this was. the're lucky they only killed themselves and not some innocent bystander.

i should learn to let that go instead of making such remarks? yea i'm on it.

I'm sorry if one of your friends died, but there are very few true accidents. I've had friends who were fucking hammered behind the wheel cause huge accidents and now you're telling me they can use being drunk as an excuse?

as far as i'm concerned, if yer stupid enough to get in a car with a drunk driver you're just as responsible because it was your own decision.

around x-mas time. Something like that happened on the island where I was living at the time. 4 people all drunk I believe, cramed into a 2 seater car. and were going 180 where the posted limit was 80.
Something about it was posted on ravevic, I posted that I believe they deserved it. You can bet I was told off by like 20 people. But it's true. Self inflicted wonds get no pity.

yes... obviosuly its tragic and i'm sure everyone knows that so I dont need to sound all sad and say "sorry about your friend" etc etc. its just obvious. plus everyone else has already said that.. dont wanna overkill the sympathy in the thread. its a plain fact that drinking and driving is stupid.. as is riding with a drunk driver

I know. When I was in high school, I was part of OSADD (Ontario Students Against Drunk Driving). We went on a little field trip and way the Trauma Ward of the hospital, and saw innocent victims of drinking and driving. I'm sure it would have been quite a shock to see if I didn't pass out first lol

I drove past the wreckage Saturday morning at 9am & honestly thought it was for a movie or something. The back end of the car was completely totalled. There were cops all around and it was cornered off. It's a shame it ended like that. I'm gonna post some blame on a terribly placed pole which seems to have won this fight. If I was a city planner I would never place a pole directly after a bend. Obviously he hugged the corner a little too tight and it cost em a friendship, a life and a car.

RIP m8...

You know...the "guy" (don't wanna mention names...) driving the car w/ Sam & Ian in it was going at est. 160km/h! It doesn't matter if he was drunk or not...if you're speeding that frigging fast down any city street, you're bound to have an accident. Driving drunk is not a good thing...but I would rather someone be drunk and drive at 40km/h than someone sober speeding like hell. I mean how much damage can one do driving THAT slow? So...DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE, but if you do, DRIVE REALLY SLOW!!!!!!

I've had three friends drive due to drinking and driving accidents and I have a hard time giving any sympathy because it's just a dumb thing ot do. I couldn't live with the guilt if I killed someone while driving drunk. Just dumb!!!

Actually, I DO possibly mean what I posted. Drinking and driving is WRONG, but how many people do you know or how many stories have you heard where people were killed because of drinking and driving--then think about how many of those cases were because those drunks were SPEEDING??! SPEED KILLS!!! Now, if all those "drunk" drivers were bright enough to drive at the posted speed limit, or slower, how many of those people do you think would be still alive? Drinking and driving is dumb, but drinking and driving AND speeding is just COMPLETELY RETARDED! So, seriously, now do YOU think I mean what I posted? YOU can't possibly not understand what I'm trying to say.
