peg
The cop had ever right to do what he did , He did not force you to give up the weed he asked you to produce it , all you had to do was say " No sir none of us have any illegal substances with us , a complaint from sombody does not give you the right to search us " Then if the police searched you without your consent then he is doing something wrong. We have alot more rights then you think pigs like to try to boss kids around becuase they know that the majority of us dont know our rights.

cops always pocket yer weed. I lucked out at arts county fair... me and my gfs were having a sess then we got rolled on by the pigs...they searched our shit and didnt find jack. We hid the pot underneath one of the back packs! and the cops didnt even pick up the back pack or anyting luckily.
But im pretty sure the only time a cop can search u is when your under arrest. Oh and if your female and your under arrest a mal police officer is NOT allowed to search you, only a female cop can search female detainees. |

I don't know if it's more "informing you of your rights" or "taking advantage of the bill of rights to justify illegal activity", either way what it boils down to is that this IS illegal, and I don't get why people get so fussy about facing the consequences of their actions. I smoke pot myself, but if I'm going to be an idiot, I'm going to accept the repercussions of my own actions, it's kind of part of being an adult. |

Everyone should know your rights with cops. The parties I used to go to in Edmonton had them posted right at the door when you came in. As the cops loved to raid them. The amount you had was fairly insignificant. If a cop gets a complaint about drug use on public property they take it a little more seriously because legally they have to check it out. The whole school thing probably didn't help your situation out either. Does any one know of a good link for your rights in BC, they may differ a bit from alberta? Good to know
Tip: A good friend of mine was always real paranoid about getting busted by the cops. So what he did was leave a gram of some skag buds in a baggie that he always left in his car. I always used to give him a hard time about it but lo and behold we're pulling up to a party (with enough drugs to spend some significant jail time) and the cops see a pipe sitting in the cup holder (dumbass move I know). That right there gives them the right to search your vehicle (hint hint). Anyways we had the drugs on our person with the exception of a QP of green underneath the passenger seat. The cops start searching the vehicle but before they do they asked if there were any drugs or alcohol in the car. By buddie responded by saying yes sir I'm sorry I just got off school and wanted to relax a bit, then letting them know where the gram of skag was. As a result they didn't do a very thurough job searching the car. And luckily didn't search us. My buddie got taken down to the PD and they questioned him and he just kept up the student story and ended up getting released without charges. |

Godessa, what part don't you like? Being searched by men in uniforms, or the fact that being a girl can get you out of it? |

This is why it's called criminal justice, because it's the criminals that are administering the justice! The drug war exists because it's better for business. Go watch the movie "traffic" and visit www.stopthedrugwar.org if you actually care.

If you knew me at all or EVER paid ANY attention to my posts on this subject you'd know that I am for equality of sexes, not when its convenient or works to my advantage, but ALLL the time. However, I will admit these things do come in handy. Last edited by MistressSpankME; Jul 01, 04 at 01:37 AM. |

Um... I can't really see what point your making, first you say it's great to be a girl to take advantage of the not being searched thing, then you all about equal rights at all times, and decided to end that comment with a variation of your first comment... Either way Myra's right, don't try breaking out on technicalities. |
