i think the internet and msn and all that stuff is killing the english language. we're shortening our words and vocabulary all so it can be more conveniantly typed on a keyboard as quick as we need it too.

gtg, brb, ttyl, lol, lmao, lmfao, imho, imo, omg...and there are many many more.

it's like George Orwell's 'newspeak' finally come to life...

i read an article in the province sayin that msn and email and such is also making people print and write chicken scratch-like. its true though, cuz not many people actually hand-write things anymore so when they do, it looks like shit.

i agree. when i write things i still really like writing with a pen and paper. may sound corny, but it's easier to connect with what you're writing when you're doing it by hand instead of just typing it onto a keyboard. you get a better feel for the langauge by writing it out by hand.

cant agree more that it totally kills english.

Alot of time when i write essays or something for school i notice that my grammar has gotten alot worse and i starting throwing in slang.

I agree with you 100% on this, my train of thought is slower then my typing. With a pen in hand the brain makes 10000x more connections.

I grew up in the backwoods! They're lucky I can string a sentence together without humping someones leg or getting distracted by something shiney.
