Joke aside...might as well start bitching about punctuation, spelling, the canadian government, pro abortion, pro-life, the idea of needle injection sights, communism, democracy, socialism, racism in society today, the homeless situation in east van, hungry children in africa, the catholic church, irish catholicism/protestant, the situation in the middle east, george bush, right/left wing politics, teenagers throwing all night dance parties, the increase of drug use in teens and adolscents, cutting a couple thousand people off welfare this year, the state of the health care situation, privitization...
and the list goes on. in other words: talk is cheap, shut up. set an example and get involved instead of bitching about it. Last edited by Goat; Jul 09, 04 at 07:18 AM. |

Just think of it this way, however disgusting it may sound at first: Writing well on the Internet is good practice for school and work. Listening to what your English professors and/or teachers have to say and applying it to Internet posts will teach you to use proper grammar to begin with. If you can take this one step further and manage to use proper grammar when you're actually talking to someone, good on ya. I'll admit though, using "whom" during casual conversation sounds very weird until you get used to it.
If you can seamlessly integrate slang language constructs with proper grammar, even better. On top of being good practice, writing well on the Internet makes you not look like an uneducated moron, although it can seem a little pompous or overboard at times. Still though, you're just accurately expressing yourself; who can fault a person for that? I've personally used this technique so much that I personally don't notice it any more. I just type and it all works out okay. |
