Barely scraping by financially...

Because if they did that, everything would cost more because the general population would be making more money. Its called inflation sweety.

MissB: I totally know how you feel, its the summer and you think it would make more sense to be getting MORE hours seeings how the customers usually pick up during the summer months... BUT NO! I get cut a day. Like, what the fuck is that?

awww snuggles miss b. I keep telling myself that once that first decent pay cheque of ryan's rolls in, things will start to be going uphill instead of spiralling down into that black hole of debt. it would feel nice to tell your employers "screw you guys, I'm going home" but sadly that kinda defeats the purpose, yes?

i'm so happy that i have a job that gives me enough work so that i'm not just making it every month.. and if i need more money, i can work more and if i'm just to tired i can take a day off. .

financial stability is one of the things in life that i'm grateful for

Don't worry... if money becomes too much of a problem for you, just do stupid ammounts of drugs until your psychiatrist puts you on disability.

The thing that pisses me off more than anything is the fact that for 2 months I worked 10-hour days 3 days a week to keep them from having to hire someone else because no one else was available to work. Yes, they may have had to pay me overtime, but I still saved them money in the long run in training and hiring.

I just feel so taken-for-granted due to the fact that I'll do anything for them here, and then they cut my hours. What a way to say "thanks for all your hard work!" :soak:

Don't worry, in less than one year you'll have a profession that will get you a job anywhere in the world.
I'm counting down the fucking days.

Disability pays something like $1300/month.
Pretty much the same as working a full-time minimum wage job.
That would be a pretty shitty fucking existence.

hey, i understand. i may be getting all the hours i need at my new job, but get this: there are people in my training class, with less experience than me, but because they were making more at their old job, they get $7000 a year more.

You could always grow medicinal marijuana for a compassion club on the side for extra cash. It's perfectly legal, you help the sick, and you'd hardly be "scraping by" afterwards.

Heh...That's wouldn't be a bad idea except for the fact that I live with a pothead and I'd have to keep any and all plants under lock and key. :p

yeah only kind of, the worst and most likely thing that would happen would be that employers would hire less people and be very carefull with who they hire..it would be very hard to get into the labour market...also 9iif i had to pay someone 15 bucks and hour minimum wage id ride their ass.

if minimum wage was raised to 15 bucks an hour..its likely that most of the kids on this board wouldnt have a job.
