Back to eating KD for another month...
Just when I was starting to catch up too. My summer has been awesome, but expensive. From Houseboating, Surfing in Tofino, and this weekend white water rafting. I was just getting back on my feet. My last paycheck I was starting to get back into positive digits with my bank statement.
Today that all came to a crashing hault. My perfect driving record has now been tarnished. By perfect, I'm not counting my vast collection of tickets. Those are separate and everyone needs to collect something. No, I'm meaning accident free for as long as I've had my license. It's early morning and I've had about a total of 7hrs sleep in 2 days. It's cold outside and the windshield is all foggy. I'm starting my day and heading to work. Then my absent mind must have been fascinated with the half stale cheeto laying on my car floor because next thing I know there is a car in front of me. Slippery roads, playing Ralisport Challenge, and no coffee in my system make me apply my brake quickly and well...SMACK! It wasn't even a BOOM. You know when you hear the slamming of brakes from cars from your patio and you can't wait for the CRASH. That didn't happen. I started this parody of events and couldn't even climax. What a rip off! Anyway, back on track. Even with the lack of auditable noise, the damage was done. Two little screw marks where my license plate is attached to my ride are now embedded in this lady's fender. Too add more humor to my unnecessarily long story, it was a courtesy car. Haha. I almost laughed in front of her. We exchanged paper work, and phone numbers (she wanted me) and we were going to be in contact. Later in the afternoon I hear from her along with the wacko car guy she borrowed the car from. At first he wasn't going to let her take the car which was being repaired and put a lean on it until he got his money. With my smooth negotiating skills he eventually agreed to give her the vehicle back. This was my fault, not hers. She shouldn't have to be inconveinced anymore then she already has. So, bottom line is this little day dream act is going to cost me $560. *sigh* I couldn't have been going faster than 10km...if that. Back to eating KD for me. I might treat myself and get the white cheddar if I find some pop bottles to return. At least it happened now and not around Christmas or I'd be screwed. This is bradical signing off, as his social life is on hiatus after this weekend. I'll be working OT shifts and Sat Holidays to make some ground work on this little dilemma. -Brad- "If you haven't had your coffee and your life is on go, do yourself a favor and don't stargaze at the cheeto."
