So when i opened my Chequeing account there the dumb bitch wrote my account number wrong. So my work deposited the money into the wrong account on friday. Payroll says its the banks fault, which it is, the bank says they can't do anything about it cuz the number they had doesen't even exist so the money should have bounced back and payroll says that they can't find out wheather it bounced back for another 2 weeks... therefore IM BROKE!#!$%$#

go back to the bank and freak out on the worker that fucked up... its her/his fault you shouldnt have to pay for that... they have records of the deposits made and everything that goes on in a bank... do sumthin... the squeeky wheel gets the grease

I went and the Teller said that it was my works fault.. then my work says its the banks fault cuz they had a stamped form with the incorrect code. The banks says whoopsie... and doesen't seem to care who was the fuckup, took a photocopy of my deposit stub, and said they'd contact me sometime. No set date. Work says 2 weeks to know shit all..
Meanwhile my 47 hours of work from one week is floating around in computerized capitalist bullshit land. It like doesen't even exist until either work or bank finds some kinda paperwork or something. So what if that never happens? my money just got zapped by a computer? yay!

one little reason you should have cheques. order them from the bank (the cheapest, smallest whatever you can get. i've done it, and it's not that expensive). then when things get set up for direct deposit, you give your work a void cheque. so really, unless they fuck up your cheques (which is unlikely) then you can't get screwed.
but still, that sucks. :( talk to a bank manager or something?

Seriously, call their 800 number and raise AS MUCH SHIT AS POSSIBLE (politely of course). Complain to a manager on the phone and in the branch. Threaten to close your account. Hell, CLOSE your account with them if they don't sort it out for you by the end of this business week. Also, make sure they know that they are responsible for any and all NSF fees that are incurred while they sort their shit out.
It's not your fault that the teller was fucking incompetent. If she can't give you a simple account number, she shouldn't be working there. You pay your monthly fees for a service. DEMAND IT.

then the other day at td.. they tried to tell me that i wasn';t heather because my drivers license didn't have the same number on it as in the computer... like what the fuck.. morons. i feel u buddy

^ well you have to deal with someone when you open your account most times.
after that you don't. i never go in to the bank! online/phone banking is great. last time i went is was because i had to change my bank account after my 19th birthday. that's it.
