Getting paid on the 15 & 30 of every month

I'm not a fan of the 2 cheques per month system.
Only 2 paycheques until Christmas. Totallyscrewed.com

I get paid every Thursday (Friday if it's a stat week). As a result, I sometimes get five paychecks a month (as I will in December).

You can go ahead and be envious now. :smoke1:

^im not envious at all, you get the equivalent of a half cheque every week as compared to regular pay schedules, big deal. i like the 1st and 15th paydays, i get over 100 hours a pay period this way. 12 day pay periods are awesome, huuuuge paycheques

I hate being paid on the 15 and 30.

i get the 15th and 30th too.. it REALLY sucks... cuz then someitmes its 3 weeks before you fuckin get paid.. UGH.LAME... TURBO LAME.

I get paid every friday (juuust in time ;) )

I worked somewhere once where you got paid "two business days after the 15th or the last day of the month" the key here is "business days", you got totally fucked if there was a weekend or a holiday in there :(

I get paid bi-weekly although we would like to change it to the 15th & 30th. It causes more work for the bookkeepers to have bi-weekly pay days. I honestly don't care either way, I'm just happy I don't get paid once a month!

Not true, also not legal.
Each employee must be paid AT LEAST once every 16 days.

This doesn't necessarily apply to Starbucks but labour laws also state that if an employee willingly enters into employment knowing that they are paid only once a month it is perfectly legal. The thing is that the employee has to be made aware of this and agree to it before employment takes place.

It's no diff. than the old rule which stated an employee had to be paid for at least 4 hours if s/he was called in for work. That only applies if the employee is sent home. If the employee willingly leaves after say two hours.... that's all he's paid for.

When I worked at the hotel I got the same thing, except with different days. It was a little annoying when it came to weekends and holidays. Of course, I worked every weekend and had no life anyways do it didn't matter too much.
