Anyways, there is a reason I asked that. I work for the government and this whole situation is really really similar to a lot of stuff I see happening around me (even the fact that it takes 3 months to get the copies of the bloody letters..)
Basically, situations I see daily are people who owe the ministry a lot of money and get sent to collections. People get really pissed about this, naturally. A really really familiar line is "Well, YOU PEOPLE HAD MY WRONG ADDRESS", these cases the people moved, think the government is totally psychic and never bothered to have their address updated (knowing full well they were responsible to make monthly payments, etc.) An attitude like that is pretty much guaranteed to give you zero sympathy because as much as it sucks, it really would be your fault. They're probably suspicious that you didn't contact them when you didn't notice automatic withdrawal coming out of your account, or when you didn't recieve any statements. The attitude this guy gave you is so so typical of government employees too - same with his supervisor. They're probably so used to dealing with liars/scammers they just assume everyone is doing it right off. IF the address data was incorrect because of an error made by the person who changed it, I'd definitely raise a stink.... It seems like you've got a good foot to stand on because you were not present/recognizing/consenting at the time that your insurance was cut off, and that is bad bad bad. Good luck |

thanks... i even offered to pay the full sum of which was owed... but that didn't even seem to matter to them...
they are just dicks... now the autoplan broker is gonna have to call him.... poor guy will probably get fired for it... but apparently they are running extremely old computers and have a history of fucking account info up.. he was saying that they sometimes have to print stuff out 4-6 times before it comes out proper and they have to manually void all the bad ones etc... |

I crashed my car into a snowplow about 5 years ago and destroyed it... ICBC decided that because of a mistake my autoplan broker made (changed the name on my insurance from my dad's name to my name without my consent, but left his insurance details the same) that me and my father were comitting insurance fraud, therefore they didn't owe us a cent and in fact, I owed them over $6000 for the snowplow's axel that I damaged
I lost my job (pizza delivery), I lost my car, I lost most of my freedom of going out and doing stuff (Kamloops bus system is retarded and lame... stops at like 10pm) I just recently got a letter from the Kamloops MLA that pretty much tells ICBC that they're full of shit and they need to clear my account and pay me my fuckin insurance money because they owe it to me hopefully that helps I doubt it though... motherfuckers |
