When quality in clothes go down.
So theres a brand of pants I wear.. that I've been wearing for about 7 years I would say.. Just cause they last so long and sooooooooooooo comfy.
and over the past like 2 years, they've become quite popular I guess.. and well they've come out with new style n what not which was cool, but the fabric SUCKS MY LEFT TIT! ugh. Mind you when I started wearing them, it was only for boy[in canada]. but I use to shop down in Ontario, California, where they had the girl stuff. REAL good quality, it was no diff then the boys what so ever. but they brough the girl stuff up here... and turned into shit. I want it to go abck to the way it was. PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!? |

^Actually I dont spend 100 on pants unlike some people. I rather stay in the 30-50 range.. thanx you very much!
Good price and good quality was where they were at. Now its shitty price and shitty quality. SUCH A DISAPOINTMENT! Like I still have my first pair from waaaaaaaaaaay back when. |

When it comes to denim, you generally get what you pay for.
For about $80 you can pick up a great pair of Mavis or Silvers. For a bit more, grab a pair of Dish. Any three of these brands will and should last you at least three years without and major wear, just make sure that you take care of your denim! ALWAYS cold water wash, inside out (with like colours), hang to dry, then toss in the dryer for 5 mins on medium to soften them up. I occasionally iron my jeans on low to get an even more finished, crisp look. Personally, I swear by Mavi. I own 20+ pairs of Mavi jeans, the only time I EVER get rid of them is when I get too fat for them =( And even then they are SO hard to part with! |

Are you perhaps talking about Dickies? I used to wear them back in highschool -- the mens ones. I can't even fit in the girl dickies...but who really cares because there's so many girls wearing them right now too -- that don't even realize that dickies started as mens work pants.
And what's with everyone wearing the same things? I work in a mall and all I see are CLONES. They're all clones. *shudder* |

Are you talking about Le Chateau? If so clearly it's the worst. Everything in there is like $30. You might as well spend some $ and buy something that will last longer than a month. Unless it's for work or something. I refuse to spend good money on clothes for work. |

^ Actually it's not true about Le Chateau. The quality has gone up quite a bit within the last year or so. I have 5 sweaters that I bought there this winter, and they are all excellent quality. Of course, there will always be items that aren't the greatest quality, but overall I'm happier with Le Chateau now than I was a few years ago.

Nat,I actually don't wear Jeans. I own 2 pairs of silvers that I bought on sale.. simple because Jeans aren't my thing.. but I've had them both for the past years.
Des, yeha, I'm talking about Dickies.. theres a HUGE diffrence between what you buy in Canada then what you buy in the states. My first pair of girl dickes[3/4 length], I bought in the states, are made out of the same material as the work dickes you can get for men. But last year I bought a similar pair of 3/4 lenght up here and the fabirc isn't as good as my first ones. WHICH I STILL WEAR! All My old Dickies from like when I first started to wear them have lasted me till this day. they don't look worn-out, color hasn't faded, the fabric has no runs in it or anything.. As for the dickies I bought in the past 2 years... Ripped, wornout, extremly faded. But the price on girls dickes is ridiculas. But for some reason, I can always find a pair on sale, for about how much they _should_ cost. I couldn't careless, whats in style tho.. I've never been one to follow trends. If you've known me for long.. I wear what I think looks good. |

As for mens Dickies product, I don't know about the manufacturing, But, I imagine that they still use the same high-quality, thick fabric as always since they are manufactured for use as work clothes. Sean, jeans can wear out if you don't take care of them properly. Especially if they have a distressed wash or fraying for style. Generally speaking, the lighter the denim, the shorter it will last because it has been through the most production treatments - washing, sandblasting, acid washing, etc. |

^ I worked in retail clothing sales for 5 years (Suzy Shier 2yrs, Off the Wall 3yrs) , and I currently work for an apparel wholesaler/distributor. I have a ridiculous wealth of knowledge about both the front and back of the garment business thanks to my work experience.
