Yes insurance is expensive, but hitting and injuring someone while driving an uninsured car could be hella more expensive. Dumbass! PS: Don't expect sympathy about insurance being expensive. I paid $2400 to insure my car for the year, and thats like 6+ years of accident free driving. Yes, it's a brand new car so it's my choice to hafta pay that much, but still. Suck it up!

How can you dispute them? When you go to court the judge will ask you if you can prove you had insurance on that date. Also remember that he can raise your fine substantially. There is no grey area you either had it or u didn't its not that hard to firgure out. |

i hate deductables. i mean we pay so much money already for insurance and if there is no one to point a finger at for damage to our car, you have to pay $300 for vandalism claims and $600 for a hit and run claims. None of that shit is our fault yet we have to get set back because of some fucking asshole. In the end the damage costs could be alot more but I don't want to pay the deductables. The way ICBC is run economically is a fucking headache. |

That's all you got for not being insured!? I would have thought that you'd be in a fuck of a lot more trouble than that!
Anyway, people, insurance in BC is not expensive. I know all too well how unpleasant it is doing business with ICBC (I usually have 2 claims a month with them, none of which I've been at fault, so far), but it's a small price to pay. My friend in London who's under 25 driving a 2.4 litre 2003 car pays nearly 4000 pounds a year (what's that like 10000 CAD?). Also, if you don't get your premiums back from ICBC--that is, if you don't make them fork out for your car as much as you had to for them--then you're not getting your money's worth. Like, they make you feel like you're not entitled to free repairs when something happens; then, why did you buy insurance in the first place? I'm sure most people could make a claim at least once a year. For example, a rock hit my windshield while I was on the freeway. Wasn't my fault, so I paid $300 deductible and got a new $1000 windshield. It's not like I'm saving any money; I just paid for that windshield a few months back. |
