conflict of interest

ATM I live with my cousin, who is a girl. My cousin is always hanging out with my girlfriend, even inviting her over on nights when I didn't even know she was coming. That really pisses me off, because I don't want to see my girlfriend every night! If I want to just vegg out on the couch and not see her, I should be able to do that without her just popping in because someone else invited her. Plus, what happens if we break up? Will my cousin keep inviting her over all the time? That would REALLY piss me off.

My cousin didn't even know this girl until I moved in, so it's not like they were friends before. My cousin just doesn't seem to get it. She thinks, well I like this person so I'm going to be friends with her nomatter what, regardless what wum thinks. :(

what makes you think you need to entertain your girlfriend when she's over to see your cousin? she came over to see your cousin, not you.

i had a similar situation a couple years ago where i hung out with my gf's roommates and not the girlfriend... didn't go over so well

that's not what i mean :p

i just meant that he doesn't need to feel like he should entertain her...i mean, no he shouldn't talk to his friend on the phone about hot girls, or watch porn on tv anything like that, but if they're sitting around talking or whatever why does he need to be in on the conversation?

It's really simple.. if your girlfriend is present, you need to be the boyfriend. It is that simple. It can be subtle, but it is definetly different.

So I see where Wum's coming from, but it probably is as simple as taking your cousin aside and explaining that thanks to her you're seeing too much of your girl, and you need a certain amount of non boyfriend time.

Then again if cousin goes and blabs this to g/f, it could lead to a fight.

Don't think she had to try much...

If you don't feel like entertaining her, just be like "I've got stuff to do right now" and leave it at that. If she's there to hang out with your cousin, then let her hang out with your cousin already.

Otherwise demand that she apologize for making friends with your family. How dare she!

but it's obvious i don't have anything to do when i'm playing Age of Empires or eating ketchup off my stomach while watching tv

that would sorta ruin things.

i can agree with you that you wouldnt wanna see her all the time, *i couldnt stand seeing a bf all the time*
you can still be her bf, and not hang out with her...have you explained to her that you dont need to see her 24/7, and that when she visits your cousin its their time , not *your* time...im sure she will understand. maybe you could ask your cousin to go to ur gf's instead, or go out and do something
