I know to take off the phones but...
Why is it the listener's fault? I would assume the other person to understand the circumstance. It's not the fact of taking off the headphones so much as my question is why it is the fault of the listener? Difference in etiquette I guess..

Yeahh..it can be a problem. Which is why it's good to have a swift pace stride thing going on...just to kind of weave them away before they begin to talk. I also find that those people who are sitting around me, tapping their feet off the rhythm to whatever im hearing (even though I have no idea what their listening too)...that gets' me real grouchy.

i was on the bus.
i was too lazy to do make-up so i put on some big black sunglasses. this drunk old man got on and sat down across from me. he proceeded to lean on the guy next to him, almost putting his head in the poor guys lap. he was harassing everyone on the bus. then he looks at me. "do you know that song 'i wear my sunglasses at night"? "hey you!" then "hey, why are you wearing your sunglasses?" i had been ignoring him until this point, i didn't even look at him because he couldn't tell if what he'd been saying had been heard. so then he says "hey are you blind?" at which point i was going to say "no, i'm deaf" but as soon as i opened my mouth i cracked a grin, and somehow i don't think it would have been believable if i were laughing while saying it. by the end of the bus ride the whole bus was yelling at him and he had gotten into two fistfights. then he got kicked off the bus. |

If I cant hear someone, I say, "What?" BUT, no matter how many times I say "what," the person just doesn't get that they need to speak louder. God dammit, this annoys me to no end. If I wasn't listening I'll say, "Pardon." "What" means it's your fault I didn't hear you, so raise your fuckin' voice a little! :mrt:
