a tetnus? really? but i knew where the nail had been - in my wall. my mom doesnt think i need one. im going ot soak it in some epson salt and put a little peroxide on it in the morning. it was a 1 1/2 ince nail. still throbbing. |

^Listen to Erik.... I worked in construction as a framer for over 10yrs and had my fair share of nail punctures in various places.... a Tetanus shot is pretty much a necessity for safety reasons!

its been a day, it hurts like whoa - but only when i stand on it cause its probably bruised. theres no sign of infection..... and im a girl, so i ALWAYS do the right thing, no matter what. :198:
but i truely thought that a tetnus was only neccissary for rusty things. this one just had some drywall resido on it. and some wood resido. thats it, wo would it be the samea s if i stepped on an oversized staple? thats the logic im using, cause i hear tetnus shots hurt. for me personally, the first time i stepped on a nail, it quickly went in and out, it hurt, i got my tetanus shot but the vaccine or whatever didnt spread throughout my arm, so for 1 week i had a huge left bicep. this time around when i stepped on a nail, it was worse. i stepped on a 30 year old rusty nail. it went in my foot, hit a nerve and caused minor internal bleeding, causing all my toes to be numb for 4 days. my prescription took away the infection and now all my toes are fully functional. i still feel the puncture in my foot though, but now it just feels like im walking on a very minimal bruise instead of feeling pain anytime my toes moved. oh ya, to add: my nerves were so fucked up for those 4 days, that i couldnt move my own toes, AND it hurt for me to manually move my toes any which way. live and learn i suppose. the first day i went back to work, i bought a new pair of steel toed boots to promote safety on the site, i dont want to be an example again |
