OK, I understand that that IS where you were coming from initially, so obviously we're seeing the same inconsistencies..
I think your first sentence was what threw me:

Say there's someone who buys all their meat from farms that treat animals with decency before they're slaughtered... aren't they going to be a little ticked off when they read this? (and maybe miss the points you made further on..)
if you'd tacked on "that comes from farms that raise their livestock in horrible conditions", it probably would've helped =P
