50 cent
i'm not sure if i can even begin to express how i feel when i watch the advertisement for his new game..
fuck.. when your famous(for whatever reason.. i'm still not even sure why he is) your going to have young people who look up to you.. and this is the message that he sends.. he is the kind of people that are destroying this continent ..fucker. |

His whole career is based on that image. It's pretty sad. You have all these people like eminem saying that they can speak their minds and that they are just kidding blah blah blah. Fact is that it still effects culture because their media is plastered on every screen in this continent.
The difference between hollywood and music stars is that these figureheads are far more important in the youths eyes. Their roll models. An actor is an actor. A music superstar is like a god to some of these kids. |

he's like a really noisy parrot that i just want to cover up with a blanket so he'll shut up
i am so not letting my kids watch t.v. and i know most people who are in the media are bad influences.. but this new game he has out is a bit extreme.. like i'm suprised that they are allowing it to be sold! america complains about all the violence, but they are the main cause ...and then there is the government... it all makes me feel very helpless & hopeless |

perhaps just a rumor...
but i heard that immigration is trying to stop fiddy coming into canada so he cant perform here, cos they're worried about all gang violence and stuff
he has to get special permission anyway, cos he has a criminal record so they are trying to deny him i haven't looked into it at all, but some of you fans may have to trek to seattle to see him? |

oh please
poeple said the EXACT same shit about GI Joes when i was a kid (yeah i'm old). I had a pile o' that shit. plus i listened to gangsta rap from the age of 14 (woulda got into it earlier but it didn't exist) and i've never shot anyone, never had the urge to pimp or sell (hard) drugs, hardly ever even had a fisticuff. Certainly never felt compelled to join the military! Some kids are gonna grow up to be nasty little fuckwads, and sheltering them from all the violence in the media ain't gonna make a spot of difference. And vise-versa. You could raise your kid on the most violent movies & music & have em turn out a nice, well adjusted adult. like me! The example you set as a parent is gonna affect that kid much more than anything they see on the TV screen. as for 50... well, he's not the first person to attain pop-star status by way of charisma rather than talent. Personally i have no strong feelings about him one way or the other... what does irk me though is the amount of stupid white trash hick bitches who think he's the epitome of all things 'gangsta'... and that that's a good thing... yuck. |

And trying to deny them any priviledges is only going to fire a spark of avenge or atleast curiousity. that's the essence of bad parenting imo. you'd have to find a way to raise him skeptical, and not blind/clueless. you'd want him to watch all this shit and come to the right decisions himself. you can't be there to slap em on the head at all times. |

wow, that's so very true. my mother tried to stop me from watching the simpsons (absolutely hated them), but all that happened was when she left the room or went out, me and my bro were watching it in a second. forbidding your kids to do something makes it THAT much more exciting... As for 50 cent, the worst thing about him is his retardedly DUMB lyrics. If he IS paying someone to write them for him, I would suggest firing that idiot and getting someone a little more intelligent to work for him... :( |
